Left turn signal does not flash when either parking or headlights are on, right signal works ok left turn signal lights are on just not blinking when lights are on, they work ok when lights off

This is usually a bad earth problem, check where the harness earth is then try connecting the earth wire to a different part of the car body in case the rust and Bondo (plastic filler) is so prolific that a good connection is not possible. Then clean all the earth connection point on the globes, the harness connection point, & chassis grounds etc

My mtx JH300 amp is going in to protection mode what should i do?

have you checked the amp fuse ? also never connect while battery is connected. be sure to connect the amp to amp specs as stated in user manual i had the same problem and it was as simple as a missed connection however it could be a multitude of isues causeing the problem most of which are in the user manual. also check the earthing cable is hooked up and be sure no power supply is earthing out on the car. Protection mode is generaly activated when the amp isnt connected properly or by fault of power supply. double check evenrything and check again.

I have the 2/1 1000w amp and all the wires are hooked up but the green light wont come on on the amp. My wiring kit says 680 watts is it not providing enough power?

have a look at your earth connection, relocate it to a good place, i put mine in the boot with approx 50cm of wire, it could be the earth is not up to the job? if you can find a nut/bolt undo it a bit and scratch it expose little metal ( cover with nail polish if needed) then put earth connection on it and tighten up, it should work, failing that take the anp out get some decent wire with in line fuse on it and use your remote from stereo make sure its still attached, wire direct to car battery, you've gotta wire from pos to amp and make sure its earthed first though that should tell you if you have a naff amp or if your wiring is rubbish. its worth getting a metre of red and black wire from halfords for this or a decent gauge wire from local carshop

My amp is not working! i have a live from battery and a good earth, but still nothing, does it need to be earthed to back of head unit?

Do you have the remote turn-on lead hooked up?

There should be 3 wires on the power side of the amplifier.

Ground - to the car chassis
Power - to the car battery
Remote - to the remote turn on lead from the head unit. (this emits a 12V signal to a relay inside the amplifier for it to turn on when the radio does)

Brake lights work intermittently

It sounds like a wiring fault - an earthing problem. Have a look around the lights/inside the lights themselves.. rear and front lights, brake lights, etc ...check the wires for corrosion/splitting. In particular check any black earth leads where they attach to an earthing point.

Crown PSA-2 power amp. Right after turning power on with volume controls all the way down, the amp continuosly thumps the woofers (alternating from the right to the left. This just started to happen. No...

Hi! The thumping motion is usually caused by faulty cross-over voltage biasing. What this is is simple; Power amps of high wattage are usually constructed of two similar but opposite polarity amplifiers ;one drives the top (positive) part of the sinusoidal and the other drives the bottom.

The simple causes that need to be eliminated are

1) Earthing :-check earthing to ensure no earth loops
2) Check the Power fuses:- usually, the supply of power to only one part of the amplifier causes thumping motion. The power section in these designs have a positive and negative polarity eg.=80V-0V-(-) 80V
3) Disconnect the speakers and check the power supply Voltages across the output stage sumettry for more details visit

Power on green light is on but no sound when speakers are hooked up

Light is on so suggests power, earth and remote turn on cable all ok. Now you just need to test the RCA signal and the AMP output. I take it you have used low level RCA as the input from the head unit? (two cables usually red n white although can somtimes be other colours) best way is with substitute amp n speakers etc although can be done with osciliscope or headphones. Once it is established the RCA signal is fine then you can check the speakers from the amp. disconnect them at the amp and put each of the two wires briefly to a battery, any battery will do e.g. 9v PP9 or 1.5v AA etc you should hear a pop from each speaker as you do it. that proves the speakers and wiring to them.
If there was no signal from the RCA the cables may be bad - requires testing from head unit to amp
failing that the RCA output may be reduced or turned off via a menu in the head unit
Or the RCA output from the unit may be knackered.

Sorry its a bit long hope it helps

500.1 amp power lights blinks on and off

Protection mode; follow this link to get a manual for the amplifier: http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_amps.php?amp_id=439

Below information is from the manual:

Status Indicator Lights / Protection Circuitry
There are three status indicator lights on the top of the amplifier. These are as follows:1) "Power" (Green): lights to indicate that the amplifier is turned on and operating normally.
2) "Thermal" (Red): lights to indicate that the amplifier has exceeded its safe operating temperature, putting the amplifier into a self-protection mode, which reduces the power output of the amplifier. The red light will shut off and the amplifier will return to normal, full-power operating mode if the heat sink temperature drops back to a safe level.
3) "Low ω" (Amber): lights to indicate that the impedance of the speaker load connected to the amplifier is lower than the optimum impedance load range for the amplifier. When this light is on, a protection circuit engages and reduces the power output of the amplifier. The amber indicator will also light when a short-circuit is detected in the speaker wiring (this can be a short between the positive and negative speaker wires or between either speaker wire and the vehicle chassis).
There is only one condition that will shut down an undamaged 500/1v2 completely… If battery voltage drops below 10 volts, the entire amplifier will shut itself off. The green "Power" indicator on the top of the amplifier will turn off when this occurs. The amplifier will turn back on when voltage climbs back above 10 volts. This may happen in a rapid cycle when bass-heavy program material causes a weak charging system to dip below 10 volts momentarily. If this is happening in your system, have your charging system inspected to make sure it is working properly.
For information on troubleshooting this amplifier, refer to Appendix E (page 21).
