More than likely, the motor coupling is broken. Locate and remove the 2 screws holding the console to the cabinet top (front or rear corners). Tilt the cabinet backwards, and remove the 2 gold clips, and disconnect the lid switch wiring harness. Tild the entire cabinet forward and off of the base.

Remove the 2 clips holding the pump to the motor, and then remove the 2 clips holding the motor to the transmission. Make sure you remove the wiring plug for the motor, and mark any wires on any capacitors. The motor coupling is located inbetween the motor and transmssion. If it is not broken, then let me know more about this machine

Washer won't spin after rinse cycle

Hello Dorothy - Does the drain pump make a humming noise? If so, there may be a restriction in the drain line or siphoning. Otherwise since it is such a complex unit I would recommend contacting a professional to have either the pump or timer diagnose.

If the unit will not spin at all and makes a humming noise, sounds like something has seized up in the back of the unit. This could be a belt broken, motor seized up, or the transmission, if your unit has one, is gone.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Washer won't spin

Check the washer motor. Make sure that the motor is getting correct voltage and is working and spinning when you turn it on. It sounds like the motor is bad. You can remove the back cover to get to the motor to check it out

Clothes washer just makes a noise like a gear spinning ?

I was having the same problem with mine so I took it apart. There is a plastic coupler-like device that connects the drive motor to shaft which allows your "spin" cycle to commence. This coupler has posts in side it but they are under the little belt. My posts were all broken so the bottom piece of the coupler was spinning but the top was not, so it just made a humming noise. Washer hums on rinse cycle

It sounds as if you are using WARM water for the wash cycle since your complaint begins with the rinse cycle. The rinse cycle generally uses COLD water, so I must deduce that your washer is not filling up for the rinse cycle. The humming sound is likely coming from the fill valve being starved for cold water.
Investigate your cold water supply to the washer and if you have good supply, you may want to replace the fill valve.

The humming noise is probably the drain pump working to remove the water out of the tub.  It is normal.

Humming noise during spin cycle

Strangely enough, the electronics in the motor drive circuits are quite hardy. Suggest if motor does agitate but not spin, check the motor brushes and see what length and condition they are in.Have had to replace brushes on many occasion. If you have a motor that has a capacitor then check the cap. It could be defective.
