SOURCE: Inlet Thermistor Open F-24 flashes if the inlet thermistor is open. How do I close it? This is a whirlpool cabrio electric dryer.

Replace the thermistor to restore normal operation. It opens when appliance gets to certain temperature and then closes again to restore heat. That sucker will never work until you get a good thermistor in there.

You can always jump it and get heat but there is no safety valve in case unit overheats - could have a fire. Your call, your life.

F25 error code

The "F25" error code means the control board senses the inlet thermistor shorted. The inlet thermistor is a part of the hi-limit thermostat which is located on the heating element box.

F25 error code

Having an error code on your appliance can be an inconvenience and I know how important it is to have a good working dryer.

The "F25" indicates the INLET THERMISTOR is shorted or the INLET THERMISTOR circuit is shorted. If you replaced the inlet thermistor and control board then it may have bad inlet thermistor circuit. You should disconnect the thermistor circuit connections at the thermistor and control board and test the thermistor circuit for continuity. Check the circuit to see it happens to be open or shorted with an ohm meter.

The inlet thermistor is located on the side of the heating element housing is a thermistor and high limit combination. The part number is 8557403. The inlet thermistor portion of the thermistor/high limit will have two solid red wires connected to it. It could have faulty new thermistor or it could have an open or shorted thermistor circuit or a faulty control board. The thermistor can be checked with and ohm meter. Disconnect the two red wires and place the ohm meter leads across the two terminals. At room temperature it should measure approximately 50k ohms of resistance. If it measures 50 k, then it should be reconnected and then the sensor circuit disconnected from the control board and retested at the harness wires to see if you get the same measurement reading. If it does measure the same, and it continues to display F25, it could have a faulty control board.

What is your model number?

E70 error code on electrolux dryers inspire, it is working but dries the clothes to damp then this code comes up

Hi Nora King - Error code E70, typically means that there is a communication error with the outlet/inlet control thermistor that has an open or short circuit. You will need a certified professional to check the resistance of outlet/inlet control thermistor and check wiring for either short or open circuit.

How do i clear the code " ts" after replacing thermister Thank you

The error "tS" actually means the thermistor is shorted. It flashes when the thermistor is indeed shorted, the thermistor wires are shorted, or the timer/control is faulty. There's no necessity to reset the machine. The problem here is not the thermistor but a shorted wire or a faulty timer/control. One simple way to find out is by disconnecting the thermistor and insulating the wire terminals then starting the dryer. If the error code does not vanish, then it is proven with moral certainty that there is a wire short circuit or a timer/control problem. Check and make sure that there's no such wire short circuit or no part of which is touching the dryer cabinet then if the error is still there, disconnect the wire harness from the the timer control. The timer/control is indeed faulty if the error code persists even after the wire harness is disconnected therefrom.

You have a faulty thermistor if the error code vanishes after the thermistor is disconnected. Normal thermistor resistance is around 10000 ohms at room temperature.

We have an he3 dryer, it keeps stopping mid cycle and the display reads E1

Hi

E1 error means its a Thermistor Failure. The dryer will not operate if the exhaust temperature drops below 18 degrees F. or exceeds 250 degrees F.

When the thermistor circuit is open (>50K ohms), the error code E1 flashes in the display.

When the thermistor circuit is shorted (<500 ohms), the error code E2 flashes in the display.

Normal thermistor resistance values:
60 degrees F. - 15.3K ohms.
70 degrees F. - 11.9K ohms.
80 degrees F. - 9.2K ohms.
