Sounds like you may have two problems but the main problem might be that the element may be broken and one side is grounded, The switch on the motor may also be stuck in the on position as well.

You should trace the power from the plug to the heater to find the place where it is lost. This involves 240 volts and should be done by someone trained. It could be the timer and it could also be the power coming to the dryer. A bad circuit can show like there is power but it is not really there. (Ghost voltage) can catch the best of us sometimes.

My Kenmore series 70 electric dryer isn't heating. Replace element, thermostats, ?

a heating element would be a likely cause however before you replace the element you should check to make sure that it is bad by using an ohm meter to check the element for continuity. if you take the element out of the machine you can usually visualy inspect it and see the broken wire.

My Kenmore Elite (Whirlpool) HE3 elctric dryer is no

A dryer not heating usually means that either the heating element is burned/broken (open circuit); a thermal fuse in line with the heating element is blown or; a thermostat is faulty.

Dryer needs to be partially disassembled to diagnose with a multimeter.

Dryer won't heat up, still tumbles but no heat. Kenmore gas dryer model #110 72612100

Each gas dryer has an electric element that heats up to ignight the gas in a small combustion chamber. for safety reasons the gas will not come on if the element is malfunctioning. After unplugging the electricity from the dryer you can get in and unplug the little element. if you can see that it is broken just replace it. if it doesn't look broken it most likely is broken but not percieved by a visual inspection. put an ohm meter on the terminals to the element and if it reads infinity the element is bad. replace the element and she should fire right up. literally.
If the element is not the problem then it may be a wiring issue. if it looks like there has been a small lint fire in the dryer you probably have bigger issues than no heat.

Kenmore Heating Element

There are levels of heat according to cycle and some driers do not use all the coils during low heat cycles. They rarely need replace unless visably broken. There could be a loose connection.
