You need to check the charging system. Read the battery voltage with the engine running, should be up around 13.5 + or - .5 Then check the voltage as you turn on the blades. If the voltage drops below 10.Volts you could have a clutch going bad or the charging / battery is getting weak. the clutch is under the mower mounted to the engine shaft- it is an electro-magnet type of clutch. The system will not let it stay engaged if the voltage drops to low. Next but not last is a seat switch. if the seat switch is out of adjustment or one wire is loose the engine will not run it will shut off it is a safety thing. Check these things then repost if you need more info.

My Husqvarna LGT 2554 deck hung up on high spot mowing. Turned off deck & mower pushed by hand. Engaged deck, started to mow, wound to stop. Belts fine. Pull up on knob to engage, you get nothing.

The engine runs but the blades do not engage? Make sure the wire connecting the electric clutch is still plugged in. If all is connected and the belt is really fine, there is a problem with either the electric clutch or PTO switch.

20 hp 42" deck will not turn over. Will start if I

there is 2 to 3 safety switches on there and any one of them will stop it from running. there is one in the seat, one on the engagement of the mower deck and one in the clutch pedal. some models also had an in-line fuse.

John Deere tractor stalls when I let up on the clutch.

when you let the clutch out and it stop engine it could be a safty switch. but a safty switch would not make it stop after it was runnig unless you have a short in the wire.

Engine chokes & dies when deck PTO engaged...

you need to start with your electric clutch and then backwards to your idler pulleys and deck spindles and bearings.
your electric clutch should almost stop the blades instantly when disengaged ,check the center bolt in the clutch to be sure it is tight also
remove the belt from the electric clutch and energize clutch any noise? sometimes the bearing goes bad in the clutch itself.
check all of your 3 spindles for noise and loose. remove belt and spin by hand and listen for quiet and they should turn free with no binding
check blade tightness
any item the belt goes around needs to be looked at for secure and operable.

Blades not engaging

Tim, first turn key on engage and disengage blade button. See if you can hear the clutch making a clicking noise. If not check switch., if not your problem is in the clutch.
