Question about Cameras

1 Answer

Camera works fine with power supply cord connected. It will also charge the battery if connected to camera and power supply connected to ac outlet. Checked battery and it has 8.32 Volts stored in it after charge, however the camera will not power on with fully charged battery. Checked DC connection plug where power supply connects to camera and battery voltage present at connecting port with charged battery connected. Checked 3 Spring pins where battery connects on camera and voltage present when charger connected. Any thoughts of how to resolve. Trying to repair it for a relative and not having much luck with it.

I tried to power it up also with my Sony camera battery NP-FM50 which is the same size and voltage 7.2 V but different mount style. It did not power up using a set of 3 jumpers from the battery to the contact springs where the battery mounts on the JVC camera. I am going to try to find a replacement charger like you mentioned but I may have a 11 Volt power supply in my junk drawer that I can cut and reconnect to the cable connector to the JVC charger to test that theory.

The camera will notice a discharged battery then the charger/camera will start to charge the battery as indicated by the blinking light by the camera function switch. I have a feeling that a micro diode some where in that circuit has failed and will not allow the battery power to flow.

    Thanks for the response.

Do you need a working battery to run camcorder off ac power adapter? I havent used camera in 2 years and just bought replaceable power adapter and wont charge battery or work off outlet at all..camera was...

You do not need a battery to run the camcorder off ac power supply. It is one or the other. The only time that both will be used is when you are charging the battery on the camcorder with the power off.

Hope this helps.

I dont know how to charge my camera everyone says since there are batteries you dont charge it but it keeps saying low battery

There are two ways you can charge the battery in the ViviCam 8025. One way is to use the supplied USB cord to connect the camera to a powered USB port in a computer or a USB power device that plugs into a wall outlet or a car cigarette lighter. The other way is to remove the battery from the camera and put it into the supplied battery charger, and plug the charger into a wall outlet.

It's all on page 7 of the manual. If you've misplaced your manual, you can download it at

I have sony cybershot dsc 10 digital camera but it dsn't power on batery charge is full

Hi,

Please make sure that the Battery in the Camera is fully charged.
Please check if the issue is with the battery charger. Make sure that the Charge Lamp in the Battery Charger is lit when connected to the Wall outlet.
You can try recharging the battery pack for almost 6 hours as initial charging.
If you've another battery pack, try using the same to check if the issue is with the Camera or with the battery.
You can also try turning on the Camera by connecting the optional ACL-S5K AC Adapter. This Adapter can be used for turning on the Camera, it cannot be used to charge the battery pack. For charging the battery in the Camera, the supplied battery charged needs to be used.
If the Camera is not turning on using both the AC Adapter and new battery, then the Camera may require service.

Thanks for using FixYa.

How do i charge my camera so that i can explore

You can charge the battery in two ways.

Use the supplied battery charger. Remove the battery from the camera, put it into the charger, and plug the charger into a power outlet.

Connect the camera via a USB cord to a powered USB outlet. Be aware that not all computer USB ports put out enough current to charge the battery. You might want to consider a cell phone charger that plugs into a power outlet.

The on off button is stuck in. is there anything you can do or do i just buy a new one.

Reset the camera
  1. Turn off the camera, if possible.
  2. If an SD memory card is installed, remove the card.
  3. Remove power from the camera as described below:
    • If you are using only batteries for power, open the battery/memory card door and remove both batteries.
    • If you are using only the HP AC power adapter, disconnect it from the camera.
    • If you are using both batteries and the HP AC power adapter, remove both batteries and the power adapter.
  4. Wait for 15 seconds. Then reinsert the batteries and close the battery/memory card door or reconnect the HP AC power adapter to the camera. If you are using both batteries and AC power, try each method separately.
Turn the camera on and off. If the issues is not resolved do the following

Connect the camera to the optional AC power supply
  1. Connect the camera to the optional AC power supply. Ensure that the AC power supply is connected to a working power outlet.
  2. Try turning the camera on.
  • If the issue is resolved , you do not need to continue with the rest of the instructions in this document.
If the is not resolved ,then repeat setps 1 to 4 abiove but remove the batteries and keep the AC power adapter connected.

Camera will power-up only when connected to DC

This from Sony website:

To ensure the proper operation of the battery, please do as follows after charging the battery.
(1) When charging by connecting the AC adaptor directly to the camera Pleasedisconnect DC IN from the camera after charging is completed. Also, itis recommended to remove the battery from the camera when charging iscompleted as the battery is discharged slightly even if the camera isturned off.
(2) When charging with the supplied USB cradle Ifthe camera is installed in the USB cradle, please leave the power cordconnected to the outlet (when using the power strip, please leave itsswitch to on).If you want to unplug the power cord (or switch off thepower strip) after the battery has been charged using the USB cradle, please remove the camera from the USB cradle. Also, it is recommendedto remove the battery from the camera when charging is completed as thebattery is discharged slightly even if the camera is turned off.
NOTE: When you charge the battery by connecting the AC adaptor directly tothe camera or using the USB cradle, do not leave it with the power corddisconnected from the outlet.

Should it not work, continue with the manual reset procedure below:
  1. Turn off the camera.
  2. Ensure the camera is not connected to an AC power adapter.
  3. Remove the battery from the camera for 15 seconds.
  4. Reinsert the battery.
  5. Turn on the camera.
NOTE: If the issue is not resolved by performing a reset procedure, service may be required .

When I put camera on docking it win,t show charge

First, the dock will charge only the batteries that came with the device; not other rechargeable batteries.
Be sure that the Kodak battery is inserted correctly, the door is closed securely, and that the camera is securely seated in the dock with the power cord secure to both the dock and the AC outlet. The USB cord does not supply power to the dock.
Hope this helps.

Power cord and battery's support NO power to Video Camera

This incident happens often and damages the camcorder's power board. Replacing power board and some adjustment should resolved the problem. Your cost may run from $175-$225 in US for this model. Whenever you are transfering and connecting to pc, it is recommended to connect AC adapter power for this. Do not rely on a charged battery. Good luck.
