I think it might be a driver or a codec missing. Eeeh... do you hear the same thing while listening to music? If you don't it is definitely a software issue! From here I would try reinstalling the software, or get the most updated version of the software (I'm assuming you're using Windows Media Player). Let me know if you're using a specific software.

Im trying to watch movies on my tv from my pc but my tv dont have vga, dvi,and hdmi ports it only has rca and s video.and my pc only has vga. how can i get it to watch movies from my pc to tv.

You would need to get a video card with an S-video or composite output. The sound comes from your speaker output jack (you can get a 3.5 mm stereo to dual RCA audio plug adapter cable for this).

What type of cable do I need to connect my HP desktop computer to my TV set so that I can watch web content on a bigger screen?

You can connect the video with an SVGA cable. If you want the sound to come through the TV easiest solution is to get an HDMI cable, assuming your laptop has the output for it and your tv has the input for it. It's a trapezoid port if you have it.

I can get picture with hdmi connected but no sound. Do i have to connect the optical digital audio cable from PC to TV to get sound? Actually the video and sound go to stereo receiver first, video passes...

If your video card supports audio over hdmi in that case you need to find the s/pdif port on you motherboard and the port on your video card (usually right next to and sli or xfire bridge) then you can send the sound thru the hdmi. if not you will have to connect your optical audio cable or a 3.5mm audio out to rca left and right out to your receiver for audio. what video card and mother board are you using? if you know this i can tell you exactly where the ports are for the spdif cable to video card and mobo.

My sound is crackling and muffled what could be wrong

Possible solutions:

1. Disconnect and reconnect your speakers.

2. Try a different set of speakers on your computer to see if the problem is with the speakers specifically.

3. Update speaker drivers. This can be done by locating the speakers in your Device Manager (most likely under "Sound, video and game controllers") and right-clicking, selecting "properties", then the "drivers" tab and click "update driver."

How do i connect a tv to my gateway computer

Do you have an HDMI port in your computer? If you have, then it is easy to connect your computer to your tv making your tv an extended monitor in watching high definition audio and video.

If you want to connect your tv to your computer and watch tv shows, you need to install a TV Tuner Card in your cpu through a PCI or PCIE Card. Once installed, at the back of your cpu, you will have a co-axial port or a compatible port to connect your tv to your CPU.

YOU HAVE TO CHECK YOUR DISPLAY CARD FOR THIS WHETHER IT HAS THE OPTION TO CONNECT TO TV, or
you can use hard disk player available in the market, to connect to tv or monitor for watching movies etc.

Sound

You might be using the operating system's default sound driver. If you know the model and maker of your sound card you can google thier website to get updated drivers. Some sound cards use extra Fluff software that has EQ and sound quality settings you done get from the OS on installation.

Post with more specifics if this doesn't help.

How can i turn off subtitles on tv joy, i have tried evrything as per the manual Regards Mike

Is this on your television or your computer?

If on your tv - are you watching TV or a movie? If you are watching a movie, it should depend on what movie you are watching. If you are watching television, it is on your television. Hit menu, and look for closed captioning, and turn it off. What model of TV are you using?

If you are watching tv on your computer, what program are you using? Sometimes subtitles are Hardsubs, which means you cant turn them off. It depends where you got the video files from.
