SOURCE: Frost buildup on ice/water dispenser

Your problem is definatly caused by air entering freezer either from the ice shute flap or door not sealing correctly, try putting a bright torch in frezzer and closing door look for light escaping around edge of door, if you can see the light then change door seal, the fault cannot be anything else. Ice maker was installed properly, when you put the arm down it doesn't call for water to fill unit. It doesn't make any kind of noises at all. The water is turned on and all plugs are in there are no kinks in the line but when the arm is truned down for it to call for water nothing happens

The is for a frigidaire refrigerator.Ice maker is all new..

Model EEV-163F Whirlpool Upright Freezer. Defrosted this week, already seeing ice buildup. Freezer is cold and appears to run fine, but frost buildup seems excessive this quickly. Frost throughout

This freezer is not frost free. Being an upright limiting the amount and frequency of opening the door will reduce the build up of ice. Ice is expected and depending on humidity and quality of seal around door affects the amount of ice.

Using a thin ribbon check the seal integrity around the door. Confirm nothing is prohibiting the full closure of the door.

Adjust door if necessary. Replace seal if defective. Freeze open unsealed items in a frost free freezer before locating frozen food in this unit.

These units are likely located in the garage where the humidity is high. If used only as needed planning transfer between this and the kitchen unit frost can be minimized.

Being a conventional freezer not frost free freezer burn is less likely and frozen food will not dry out as quickly. Confirm that the freezer maintains about 0 degree F.

This unit is likely more efficient and will maintain the food frozen longer in the event of power outage.

Hope this helps?

Tfx25ppbb. Water leaks into bottom of freezer when refilling ice tray in automatic ice maker. Ice still gets made but water leaks to the bottom of freezer. When enough freezes, it leaks out the door

It's probably not the ice-maker. It has a plugged drain. This is located in the back wall of the freezer near the bottom. remove the evaporator cover...(the back wall of the freezer). Below the coils is a trough with a hole in it where the defrost water drains. This is probably frozen over.
Pour some hot water in to trough until you see drain hole. Keep pouring until water runs thru drain. May have to shut down ref to get it to defrost.

If your refrigerator is fairly new, the seals probably are OK. More likely, the door alignment has to be adjusted.

I have a maytag fridge and the ice maker is on but it is not making any ice. what is wrong?

You most likely have a bad ice maker, but it also could be the ice makers valve solinoid is bad as well. You can check your ice maker by removing the front cover and at the bottom right about 1 inch up from the bottom you will see 2 holes 1 of the holes will have the letter T next to it. If you take a wire that is stripped of it's insulation at each end and put one end into one hole and the other end into the other hole it will bypass the thermistat of the ice maker and make it start. If it satrts and runs then calls for water near the end of the cycle and stops then both the icemaker and the valve are good and this would mean you have a cooling problem. A ice maker will only attempt to make ice when the thermistat of the ice maker reaches about 18 degrees.

The icemaker in my whirlpool side by side freezer is not working it seems there is no ice or water in the maker and the motor is not turning

If your ice maker is the type that sits sideways near the front of the door and you have a beam that senses when door is open the emitter and receiver have gone bad and must be replaced along with the ice maker control module located behind the front cover of the ice maker. The emitter receiver runs approx. 120.00 and the module about 80.00. Hope this helps.

No ice instead water dripping down into freezer making icicles

If you have icicles, where are they forming at? If on the front of the ice bucket, then look at the dispenser shoot door is closing all the way. The way to check that is to look into the shoot while holding a flash light (or bright light) up into the dispenser from the front side of door. You should see no light.

Now if you have ice buildup around the inside of bucket, mainly from the ice maker to the bucket then you either have an ice maker that is leaking water or you have a water valve that is not shutting off all the way. Suspect water valve if you have ice buildup within water inlet tube on top of ice maker. Frozen water within tube is good indication that water valve is leaking.

Look inside refrig side of refrig, usually located on right top side of wall, you will find a tag with model number and serial number. Need both to get you the right part number for ice maker or water valve.

Excessive frost/ice buildup near bottom on freezer

Hello.

If you remove the bottom drawer in the freezer you will be able to see the back of the freezer. You will notice a large build up of ice in the bottom of that panel. If this is the case, you will need to empty the freezer up to the icemaker bucket. There is a panel with several screw in it that you will have to remove. Once removed you will want to defrost as much of the ice as you can with a hair dryer. Once you get the ice down to the hole you will want to heat some water up in the microwave and pour it into the hole repeatedly until it clears the line and drains on its own. This will remove whatever bug of ice particle that blocked it. Put everything back together and you will no longer have this problem.

Refridgerator freezer GE

Frost is due to outside air leaking into unit. Check on back wall to see if hole for ice maker fill tube is still plugged. If not and you have no ice maker cover hole with tape. Also look for water or ice build up in bottom of freezer or ref. sections. May have a plugged drain. Let me know what you find.
