Question about Microsoft Excel for PC
I need an IF formula for an Excel sheet i'm working on. the one i had is =if(a1=''Saturday'',''off'',''''). the problem is, A1 contains =A2 because A2 is a date. I need A1 to show the day for that date. I just want a certain cell to show OFF if it is a certain day. The one I know only works if I put in the day of week manually. Please help.
=weekday(a2) will give you the actual day of the week of the specified date

Use the test function.
Formula in cell A1 would be =text(a2,"dddd").
This would pick up the date from cell A2 and return the day of the week in cell A1.
