Vizio p50hdtv20a with no picture or sound

I have a Vizio p50hdtv20a with no picture or sound. The power light on the front panel is orange and when I push the power button I hear a click and the light turns green. I plugged in a DVD player and get no sound or picture. I pushed the input button to cycle through the various inputs. (I don't see anything on the screen) to see if I could get any sound but nothing. A neighbor gave me the TV. He said he took it in to be repaired and they wanted $400 to fix problem. He did not want to pay that amount so he gave me the TV. He did not know what was wrong. When I took the back off there was a sticky note that said "missing 130 at R85". I am assuming it was put there by the repair shop but don't know what it means.

Sounds like tv shop knows that is missing because they removed it so as not to work when custermer got it back with no charge

No power on vizio E371VL

Vizio TV model E371VL turned on ok and had tv show on ch.4.
Turned on the DVD player and put movie dvd in and closed tray.
We have done thhis numerous of times and never had a problem.
This time " HDMI " was showing on top right of black screen,
then " No Signal " came up on screen, then went completely black screen. Called Vizio, they had me power off and unplug set.
Push and Hold power button on TV for 30 sec. to reset.
Replug set and Vizio (lighted) on lower front of set lighted normally dull orange. Pushed power button on remote and when set did not come on, then push main power button on side of TV. Nothing, no White " Vizio " from orange light. Is this a power supply (0500-0412-1020) problem ? Thanks, Sidney ([email protected])

P50HDTV20A is model number black screen when turned on, green light turns on, orange when off. no sound or picture.

ry changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

If problem persists, please refer it to a qualified service technician.

No sound, no picture

Hello sorry to hear that. From your description it sounds like your signal board may have been damaged by you plugging in your laptop to it. The signal board is the one with the tuner on it.

The power appears to come on, but no picture and no sound

Look at power board. check fuses on board and replace fuses with new ones.

Look for numerous bad capacitors on power supply or replace board. Also look for burn spot on square buffer ic's to left of cabinet with back off. Replace bd's as necessary.

Check ur power source with other devices?Yes.Than,the power supply board it dead.That the board,where the power a/c cord plug into it.Try website like Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

is your tv set goes on stand by?if yes there some problem with your power problem which is related with sound/picture.if not goes on stand by then check other input like av1,2,3 or pc in put .after that it will confirm where is the problem.

Your TV is going into fault protection mode. The Uf capacitors on the PSB-Power supply boards are blown. Recap the Uf caps on the PSB.
