I do not have the laptop here to try this right now. I have questions re your instructions: Am I uninstalling in device mgr, if so the with the wireless card not showing in network heading there is nothing to unistall there other than the fast ethernet . There is a ethernet controller heading with a yellow ? and I have tried over & over again to find the driver for it. Are your instructions taking into account that it is an inprocomm 2220 wireless card? I really appreciate all your help. I will try to try this tomorrow when I receive your answers to my queries.

Re: re. aspire 1360 wireless problem
Hi there, for your first question ..yes u are uninstalling from device manager. and the second.. the wireless card not showing was taken into account..cause the ethernet controller that has the yellow mark is your wireless card..it just does not have the drivers...hence the name ethanet controller....
try this link for the card listed in your post :- http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=7172

Start taking your laptop apart piece by piece and test it after each removed component: 1. Remove the hard drive and test the laptop. 2. Remove the DVD drive and test the laptop. 3. Remove the wireless card and test the laptop. 4. Unplug the display panel from the motherboard/video card and test the laptop. etc.... Continue taking it apart until you have only three major components connected: motherboard (with video card), processor, and memory. If you still experience the same problem, most likely it's bad motherboard. By the way, before you start, try reconnecting the memory module. If you have two modules installed, try removing them one by one and test the laptop with each one separately.
On the left and on the right hand side of the laptop we have to remove two little plastic covers which underneath , hide a screw each.Unscrew both of them.Push the LCD back. The Middle panel ( power button, wifi, etc ) needs to be carefully lifted on both sides.the keyboard is next. For this you have to be even more careful Now , underneath the keyboard we find the switches we were looking for.You will find 4 horizontal switches. The 1st one says ‘Password Check’ and the 2nd one is for the Boot Block. Flip the switch you need to, close, and reboot.
All the above is only advisory, hope this helps if i can help further please let me know
1.- check if your wireless device is working
2.- If not you have to turn it on
3.- Select your wireless network (control panel>>network connections>>wireless networks)
4.- Connect to the network (is the network is pass protected you will prompt for a password)
If above doesn't help, please describe better your issue

hi there, strange thing happen to me today - 13/04/2008 got a laptop with this same problem ..
The ethernet card was showing an exclamation mark(!) over the question mark(?) for an hp f700 laptop .. but this was overcome by installing nvida chipset drivers which contained the network card driver package .... hence i am thinking along the same lines....

hmmm check out your power connection. see is the adaptor giving power to your lap when you connect this to laptop. There might be an indicator at the jack point of laptop to your adaptor.
If the adoptor is not working well then try to use another one of same configuration.
