Open your sub-woofer and check the continuity of your bass speaker. Chcek also the fuse of the sub-woofer amp...the fuse might be busted already.

I have my amp hooked up perfectly, but why won't it work? is there a re-set or somthing? i checked fuses and everything

Unlike the stereo unit, amps doesn't have a reset button.

Check the fuse in your hood.
Check all wiring, especially the ground to chassis.
Check for voltages, remote turn on should have 12V to ground and power cable should have around 12 to 14 volts.

loose connection to the power line and or ground. ground good be grounded poorly. best ground is to scratch the paint off the car frame under the carpet in the trunk and put a eyelet on the wire and screw it to the frame.also check your inline fuse on the power line from the battery if you dont have one you should. and also make sure you are using the right gauge wiring for your amp,

Xplod to a jvc

I would recommend using an 8 AWG minimum or preferably 4 AWG power and ground cable. Use as short a ground lead as possible and connect it directly to some chassis metal (avoid accidentally screwing into the gas tank if in trunk). Use a fuse holder with a 40 - 60 amp fuse under the hood within 18 inches of the battery. Your RCA cable coming from the back of the JVC radio should be run to your amp along with the remote turn on lead. This wire should connect to the JVC's amplifier turn on lead which should be a blue wire with a white stripe.

Amp stereo hook ups

You need to run RCA cables from the RCA output jacks on the back of the Sony to the input RCA jacks of the Jensen amp. Then you need to run a wire that connects to the blue wire of the wiring harness on the sony to the "remote" or "turn on" terminal of the jensen. That is the wire that turns the amp on when the radio is turned on. It should be on the power wire terminal of the jensen along with the +B (positive) and the GND (ground) terminals. Those are the only ones that go from the Sony to the Jensen. You also need to have the speakers connected to the speaker jacks of the amplifier, and the power wires connected to the power terminal of the amp. The positive power wire needs to go to the positive battery terminal and the ground should be connected to the chassis of the car close to the amplifier. make sure the ground is connected to a clean bare metal part to make sure it is good.

Thats all, but you also need the proper guage wire and make sure no bare wire is exposed to any metal areas or the chassis of the car. You can get all of those things at anyplace that installs car audio. They can tell you the proper guage wire and they have the RCA cables to.

If you are not experienced at this type of installation you really would be better off lettng a professioanl do it for you. It is easy to wire something wrong and damage the amp and/or the receiver.

The wires also need to be run in a place that they will not be damaged and are out of the way.

Ihope this helps you, and please be careful. Help is here if you need it.

If you found this information to be helpful a rating of "FixYa" would be appreciated. It is the only reward we get for the free help we offer.

You're using the wrong control wire. You're likely using a wire marked antenna control. You need to use the one marked amp control. They are both blue.

My sony xplod 1000w xm-1652z doesnt work anymore

First off, according to the manual, the protect light should be green. That's normal operation. If it is red, that's a problem.

If it does go red, disconnect all of the wiring to the amp except the +12V and ground. Short the remote connection to the +12V to force the amp on. If the protect light still lights red, the issue is inside the amp and will need repair. If the issue goes away, try reconnecting one wire at a time until the protect light goes red again.

Trouble shooting XM-1652Z Amp

Grab yourself a test light and make sure that not only the 12v red power wire is putting out power but the thin blue or 12 volt turn on wire is also showing power. Then test the ground terminal and make sure u have a good ground. If that doesnt work try checking the amps fuses and check the fuse and connection on the battery. If everything checks out ok and the problem persists then put a small test speaker to the channel outputs and make sure that u are getting noise from those channels if you dont get any noise then u most likely have bad outputs and blown channels, you will need a new amp. Good luck, hope i was good help.

Sony Xplod 1000 watt car amp quit working.

Almost all after market amps use 12v at very very low amperage to trigger the amp on. A temporary jumper from the battery plus terminal on the amp AFTER the battery and ground wires are attached should cause the amp to turn on. I would check to see if you have attached your speaker load correctly ESPECIALLY if you are bridging. Most of the blown amps that come into my shop are due to incorrect bridging loads from the speakers. Note that a 4ohm load bridged across both outputs of an amp will deliver a 2ohm load to each of the channels. When you parallel wire two 4ohm speakers together and then attached them to a bridged amp you will be putting a 1 (one) ohm load to each channel of the amp. Please don't make this mistake. It will fry your amp in about a month. Hope this helps. Good luck.
