    Thank You!

  • gwplank Jun 05, 2010

mmm - problem - the dryer is mounted on top of the washer.......

  • gwplank Jun 05, 2010

No, thank you - that helps! Let's see what we can do.

  • gwplank Jun 05, 2010

Ok, if the dryer were taken off the top, is it really as simple as removing the 3 screws, removing the top, and rotating the drum until you see the wire???

  • gwplank Jun 05, 2010

We were able to get it out by rotating the drum a few times - it poked out one of the holes! Phew!!

    Thank you sooooo much!

On the back of the washer you will have 3 screws that hold the top on. If you remove the screws you will bw able to lift the top off them spinn the drum to get yo the wire.

Yes. Once the top is off then you can pull the front to get in between the drum and outer casing

Hi How do i get a bra-wire from inside the drum. Nothing is protruding into the drum but I an hear it clicking. Elilse

There is virtually nothing that can be done to remove this without taking the entire machine apart. You can try one thing tho, try removing the bottom front panel to access the drain hose. Remove it from the tub and see if you can spin the drum to get it to fall out the bottom:)

Front loading washer makes roaring sound during spin cycles what is the fix?

It has an electric pump that can make a noise by a bra wire or some of that nature resting on top of the impeller.

try removing the element from the drum and use a torch to locate the wire, sometimes you can see it sticking through the holes in the drum,so you will be able to pullm it back

Our washer is making a grinding noise when the washer drains and when the tub spins any ideas what it might be. Washer seems to work fine just making that noise during a drain and spin cycle.

This sounds like you may have something caught in the drain pump. One of the most common items to get stuck in there is a woman's bra wire. Check it out.

BRA WIRE STUCK BETWEEN DRUM AND HOUSING

I am not a repair professional. I am just a 78 year old man who has been making his own repairs for about 50 years. Therefore the washer ID doesn't mean
anything to me. It's been about 55 years since I had experience with front load washers. However I can refer you to Applianceaid.com where they have very good and complete trouble shooting and repair information on front loaders. I think you'll find what you need there. Don't worry about the timer, they hardly ever go bad. Good luck with it. If I have helped you, please rate my advice on fixya.

Whirlpool Duet Front Loading Washer Won't Turn On

MY WASHER WAS DOING BASICALLY THE SAME THING. I HAVE A WHIRLPOOL FRONT LOADER MODEL #GHW9460PL0. MY HUBBY REMOVED THE 3 SCREWS FROM THE BACK OF THE WASHER, UNPLUG IT FIRST, AND TOOK THE TOP OFF. WE THEN CAREFULLY UNPLUG THE WIRES AND REPLUGGED THEM BACK IN 1 BY 1 SO U WONT GET THEM MIXED UP. WE THEN TRYED IT, AND THE CONTROL LOCKED LITE STAYED LIT. HE HELD THE SIGNAL CYCLE BUTTON IN FOR 3 SECONDS AND THE LIGHT WENT OUT. WE THEN TRYED RUNNING A CYCLE AND SO FAR SO GOOD!! GOOD LUCK!

Nail in washer

Hi I had the same problem, but not a nail a bra under wire, they have a wire that is sown in under the cup these often work loose and slip through the holes in the drum,in my case it was catching on the heating element if not removed it would catch the element and even damage it or at best my a bad noise. To get at it i just undid the heater element pulled it out from the drum and this then gave me good access to the drum housing so i was able to get at the wire. You must make sure you unplug the washer from the electrics DO NOT work on any appliance when it is connected to the mains. All washers have an heater at the bottom of the drum.If you are handy it will not take you more than an hour to do this job.Good luck.

Something stuck in drum, spinning cycle loud hammering/clacking sound

hi there,

sounds like you may have something caught between the tumbler and the cabinet. since the drum has holes in it, can you have a look if you can see anything that's come of clothing, like a bra wire. it's usually something bigger.

Bra underwire stuck

disconnect from electricity. take back panel off.you will see heater at bottom of tub held in by 1 10mm nut.disconnect wires to it. loosen this nut and pull heater out - you may have to help it with a screwdriver. you can then see into the gap between tub and drum and fish for the bra wire.
tell her not to wear bras with wires!!

How to remove Bra wire trapped between drums.

Try to see if there is a large rubber sleeve underneath that you can remove. It will probably be fastened with a clamp. Make very sure that you get it tightened afterwards, or it may leak.
