Yes, but you need the XP drivers for the motherboard chipset as well. Should be on the CD that came with the board, else from Intel.com

1.) Ensure XP is updated with latest device drivers
2.) Ensure latest chipset & motherboard drivers are installed
3.) Check USB drive, and USB port
4.) Boot up with any Linux OS Boot up disk and check if USB is working

your motherboard spec says only DDR II 400 or 533Mhz RAM. running at 1.8V.

some boards works even with higher ram but run only at the speed they can reed. so it is basically pointless buying higher frequency RAM for this board.

You should be just fine with the existing BIOS. It should not affect anything with setting this up as a home PC.

Something is not right with your XP installation.. try to re install them... If you are using XP home edition with SP2 you can run them direct from CD ROM.. I assume you know how to do this...
