I have a sprinkler head that has broken off, leaving the threaded portion inside a 90 degree PVC elbow. There is not enough room to cut out and replace the elbow, so somehow I need to remove the broken off piece of the sprinkler headed that is inside the PVC. It's a very clean break, - there is nothing sticking about the PVC elbow that I can grab onto and unscrew the sprinkler head.

Have 75 gallon gas water heater. Can I run 90 PVC off top power vent without vertical PVC first? Have Richmond unit.

1) I believe you can immediately elbow the PVC pipe.
There is a limit for how many elbows can be used between blower and termination, and limit is determined by diameter of PVC pipe.

2) Copy following link for venting resources and typical Rheem and Richmond power vent manuals, and diameter-elbow pdf from Bradford White.

3) Richmond is Rheem. Product manual will show specifications for venting.
Product warranty is voided if installation does not follow specifications shown in manual.

Need to reconnect threaded pvc connections in drip system. Had to CUT out the valve, now am stuck with only threaded connections and no room to add a union.

By drip system you mean watering a lawn or garden? If so, you can cut off one of the threaded connections (far enough) back) to leave enough room for another threaded end, and a union.

I have a leak in a 3 inch pvc straight section of

Add a U-bend to the pipe. You'll have to cut out the bad section, then add 90 elbows to each end. Then you can install the repair piece by slipping it into the two ends.

The threads are stripped on my Hayward sand filter drain plug.

I've had the same problem every year since I bought this house 10 years ago with my Hayward filter drain and finally MacGyvered a great solution. Went to Home Depot and bought a 1" PVC shutoff valve. The Hayward drain has an outside 1 1/4" thread. The part I got was an 'Aqua-Dynamic' 1" PVC Schedule 40(I can't find a picture of it on the internet). It is a white PVC valve with an inside thread that mates with the Hayward and a red shutoff winged knob. You need to hacksaw the red wings off the knob in order to be able to screw it onto the drain because the filter's base gets in the way. Leave the valve in the open position(especially if water is still draining with filter off) and put PVC cement on the outside of the drain thhreads and a bit on the inside of the valve and screw it on. When the glue dries(5 minutes), you now have a drain that you can open and close every year with ease(you need a pair of pliers because the wings are off the turn knob but it works great!)

I want to cut 2 7/8 inch pipe to make a 90 degree elbow, not a corner but a sweeping corner. I know how to cut 2 45's to make a corner but I want the corner rounded.

They make pipe benders for you application. They are quite inexpensive. If you want to do it your self you can. Remember the total number of degrees you want is 90. Each cut is half the angle. Example 45+45=90. 30+30+30=90. and so forth.

I don't know your application but they sell larger radias 90 degree rigid conduit elbows at Home Depot or Lowes.

Inlet pvc pipe broke off and is in face. is pvc threaded or not?

Get a screwdriver (or something strong like that) that is the diameter of the pipe only. Use a torch to heat it up and then press it into the pvc...might take a couple times to get a good indent, and then is threaded 3/4" pvc....some installers will actually glue this fitting in the pump - which render it unuseable in this situation....

Broken composite elboe

Replacing this elbow is one of the easiest jobs on any Karcher pressure washer. To gain access you will need a special screwdriver, variously known as a Star or Torx screwdriver (size T15), to undo the eight screws that hold the front to the back (three down each side and two at the bottom). You will also need to remove the handle (easy) and the black piece on the side that holds the gun when not in use (not so easy, but get a flashlight and look up at this piece from underneath, deep inside you will see a tab that must be released using a flat blade screwdriver).
When you get inside, you will see the remains of your broken elbow. It's fixed to the pump by a metal fork that you can lever out to the left, then pull the broken bit off. Look out for the O-ring, which may come off with that bit or may remain up inside the pump outlet. You will need the O-ring to fit on your new elbow (grease it well with a silicone based grease before fitting). Push the new elbow all the way on to the pump and secure it with the metal fork. Be sure to push the fork all the way home or it may work loose during use.
It's a good idea to test the unit before putting the front back on, to ensure there are no leaks. BE VERY CAREFUL TO KEEP YOUR FINGERS CLEAR OF THE FAN BLADES ON TOP OF THE MOTOR WHEN YOU DO THIS.
Re fitting the front is just the reverse of removing it.
I hope this helps. Any questions, just post here again and I'll do what I can to help.
I value feedback, so please rate this response.

Hi, We have two Paragon split systems which effectively cool our large home. One system is playing up. It started 3 days ago where there is water dripping from the front of the unit and the green 'run'...

More then likely the blockage is inside the a-coil section. At the drain. To get to it easier remove the pvc drain line. As the drain line comes out of the collection pan it goes into a pvc line the 90 degrees elbow goes to floor. So cut the line right before the elbow and unscrew the drain line from the a-coil. Be sure to have a towel to catch the water that will come out of unit as the blockage will be holding back a lot of water. Now sometimes the line isn't glued and would be able to just pull apart so try that first. Take the line and clean out with high pressure air out side cause it will get messy.

Now to do it like a pro would do it you would have to take the front cover off the a-coil. to gain access to the inside the unit. And remove any build up and blow from inside out.

If I was going to do it I would do both of these as to make sure line is totally clear.

Replace all line and fittings make sure you use teflon tape on the fitting that screws into the a-coil and glue that joint then when it goes to the 90 degree elbow don't have to glue. and if you need anymore help get back with me ok ken

Broken Nutone central vacuum unit

most of those systems are plumbed with PVC, but some do use flex throughout the home...
If yours is PVC, visit your nutone dealer and get a new outlet/elbow.
Trim the old elbow off with a drywall saw or other small saw (if you have a sawsall, that is fine) and glue the new one in
if it is flex tubing, it's easier; the elbow threads on. just be sure to hold the tubing so it doesn't drop down,
