Chat is disabled in facebook

Chances are the friend to whom you are sending might be accessing Facebook via mobile. Mobile Facebook does not provide chat notifications appropriately and it depends on the device too. When you send message or chat,both are now equal in Facebook. Recent Facebook version,what it does is, it combines chat and message into message section. Whatever you chat is sent as message to the person,if that person is offline or not responding to chat. If at the time of receiving message,you are online,then you receive it in chat window. At the same time,you might see notification in Message area.

Eventhough it is to an extent confusing,either way,you can reply/chat and you get all messages. In short,your message never gets lost. It gets to your friend. If he/she cannot see it in Chat,they can definitely see it in Messages section.

REFRESH . Sign into your FB account then on the very first page on the left side you see a option to go online. just click on it.

Your Facebook chat might be disabled because:

1. You might be using Old Browser. Certain new features of Facebook Chat is available only in newer browsers.
   
2. Your connectivity speed might be low due to some faults in network. If this is the case,wait till connectivity resumes.
3. You might have unchecked 'Available to Chat'. You can enable Available to Chat by clicking on Settings icon near chat window and enabling Available to Chat.

No one knows if you're logged in or not unless you post something or if your Facebook Chat is active. You can try disabling your Facebook Chat so no one will know you're online, or you can also make a Friend list, and put it in "Offline Mode" in chat and put people that you don't want to see you online.

To disable Facebook Chat, follow these steps:

1. Click on the small person icon in the Facebook chat tab located in the lower right corner to open the Facebook chat application window.

2. Click on the "Options" tab in the Facebook chat application window.

3. Click on "Go Offline." By clicking "Go Offline" only a couple of things will change: you won't be able to see who is online and they cannot see that you are online. You can stay on Facebook without receiving any more annoying pop up chat messages. The small person icon in the lower right-hand corner will now read "Offline."

4. Once you have clicked the Offline option, you remain offline in future Facebook sessions automatically unless you choose to go back online. You have now successfully turned off Facebook chat.

you just click chat option on you chat disable status, if that not any change, something problem with your browser. you can try with other browser to indentified the problem with your Browser or with your Facebook Account.

When I open Facebook, I get a message, "Chat disabled on this page." How do I fix the problem?

4. Select Go Offline



To enable it again, just click the Chat button.
When chat is disabled, nobody can tell when you are online.

On the bottom right of the screen you will see the number of people online. Click on it, click on a name and a chat window will appear. That chat window will be kept next to the number of friends online tab at the bottom right. As you open more chat windows, they will appear at the bottom right, building-up towards the bottom left.

If someone sends you a message, a tab will appear flashing at the bottom
