I suggest you not try this,as this amplifier is not designed for dual sub support, you can wire the units in series with each other but the load will be greater then the amp normally buts out, You connect the sub to termials BTL+ and BTL- terminals on the amp. You can wire the subs together by soldering the + terminal from one speaker to the other and the same with negative terminal, the last speaker then wire these connections the the BTL inputs. + and -. Or you could use just one sub and run the unit in dual mod but you will need a crossover. But if you run th amp in dual mode slide the LDF switch to off pos. Here is a sony site to help you with connections.. http://www.docs.sony.com/release/XM1652Z.pdf
GOOD LUCK>>>

so since i have only one sub i take a pos. from one voice coil and hook it up to the other pos. on the other voice coil then do the same with the neg., then take the neg and the positive from each voice coil then run them to the amp bridged is that correct?

How do i bridge 3 subs to a 4 channel amp

My information shows the XM-1652Z as being a 2-channel amp. It will not be stable below 4-ohms in bridged mode. For best power, your subs will need to be 2-ohms with all 3 wired in series. This will present a 6-ohm load to the amp. After wiring the subs in series, connect the positive speaker wire to one channel (+) and the negative speaker wire to the other channel (-). For the 1652Z no other wiring is necessary. For subs you will also want to set the LPF (80Hz) switch to the "ON" position (to the right).

Keep in mind that the rated output is only 400 watts RMS at 4-ohms in bridged mode. That's kinda wimpy for 3 subs. You would probably obtain better results from two 2-ohm subs, each connected to a separate channel. That way each sub would be getting 200 watts RMS, still low but there's lots of good subs that will sound pretty loud with 150-200 watts

Can a 1000 watt amp run 800 rms subs and best wiring option

yeah it will run them but you won't get your full power because the rms for your subs is high. try bridging them with some 8 gauge wire, and of you got a crossover it will help you out alot

How to measure watts

You need a Volt Meter and an Ohm Meter. P = VI & I = V/r, so Power = (Volt^2)/Ohms .

You can get the ohms by hooking them up to the subwoofer input wires, and you get the volts by hooking up to the amp output terminals/wires. Although, amps will put out different voltages for different frequences, this should give you ballpark estimates.

High distortion

The head unit may be rated at 200 watts but it cannot produce more than ~20 watts of real power per channel. There's no way that it can drive the high end speakers to a level that will be needed to compete with the subs on a 1000 watt amplifier.

Sony Xplod XM-1652Z Car Audio Amplifier cuts out when turned up loud

The best thing to do is to get a amp that is more watts than your subs, not the other way around, speakers are known to handel a lil more power but amps cant produce more power than they are capable of... your ground wire should be thick also, say 6 to 8 mm or so, and its best to put in a cap and an equalizer.
Cheers

Sony xplode 1000 watt amp

Make sure you don't have a short circuit somewhere. Make sure the wiring is all intact.
