Question about LG LWHD1800R Wall/Window Air Conditioner
LG LWHD 1800RY6 Window Air conditioner - I have the unit but it was removed from the windown during winter and now I want to install it again but without the owners manual I don't know how to attach the brackets to install the unit.

may be a bad fan motor or loose wire, however some units have dip switch settings on the circuit board preventing the fan from coming on.

sure you can but you have to prepare it for the winter.
re-oil the fan motor and make sure you wrap the whole unit up with a plastic wrapper just like the one used in the kitchen, the one that you can stretch to cover a whole stainless food container. then put it in a box to further keep the moisture away.
then after the winter and you want to use it again,
unpack it and inspect the fan motor. make sure that it is freely moving without binding or sticking.
let it stand for a couple of hours so that if there is dew inside , it would evaporate first .
then you can use it again.

Remove the front cover of the unit to expose the cooling coil. Put the unit on and observe if there will be formation of frost (ice) on the coil. If there's frost formation, the common cause is dirty cooling coil. Have it cleaned using an alkali base coil cleaner. If the coil is clean, then the problem is the fan motor. It might be turning slow due to copper loss. Have it replaced.
