Question about Polaroid TLA-04011C 40 in. LCD TV

1 Answer

When I turn on the TV the screen comes on for a couple of seconds and then it goes off. After trying several times, it will stay on. It is getting worse ande I assume it will fail completely soon. It is a Polaroid LCD flat panel, about 1 1/2 years old

I have philips model #42pf13704df7 when I turn it on it stays on couple second then it turns it self off, I have to turned on again and again until it finally stays on and sometimes it goes off again

I tried to find out if this is an LCD screen type or Plasma or DLP, but I couldn't find a straight answer. The only info I could find was several links all leading to your questions about the problem, which means you must have one or more of the models numbers wrong. Anyway, you have the symptoms of a DLP bulb going bad. _IF_ it is a DLP, then for sure that's your problem. The bulb is quitting. If it's a Plasma, then it's the beginning of the end for it; (the plasma display is getting ready to quit for good). If it is an LCD, then I've never heard of one doing that, so I don't have an answer; other than the power supply kicking out, but they usually quit for good pretty fast after the first couple of times. Sounds like a bad bulb in a DLP TV or a bad plasma display in a plasma TV.

LG M227WDP turns black a couple of seconds

Do you have the "sleep" mode turned off on the computer?
As well, you can try different screen resolutions and refresh rate settings on the video section of your computer. That might make the connection to the TV more stable.

Screen goes black but still sound

This is inverter or backlighting problem. Can you try switching it on and off quickly for a couple of times and tell me if these '2 seconds' get any longer'. If picture stays longer and longer before shutting down, one lamp needs replaced-if not, please replace inverter board

My Sony comes on then both sound and picture goes black.

After being on a little while, the screen goes black (no audio as well) for 20 to 30 seconds. Green light stays on. Then, picture comes back on and takes a couple of seconds to get up to full brightness. About 5 seconds or so after the video comes back, the audio returns.

Until this morning, has only happened a couple of times a day, now happening more often. About 3 times in last 20 minutes.

KDF-E55A20 is about 3 years old.

HP's are known for bad capacitors in the power supply.
Replacing them is simple if you know how..not so simple if you don't.
Try your local TV repair centre. It should not cost alot to have the capacitors replaced.

Hope it helps =)
