Why doesn't it show the additional 2 gigs when i insert the sd mini card? And does the sansa automatically read the additional memory?

I have an E250 also. My pc reads my micro sd card through the sansa, but the music I put on the card is not available to play on the sansa. Have tried switching USB modes.

    Any thoughts?

Most times the card would have to be formated in the device that is using it.

Don't know if your sansa supports from the settings, info tab to select sd card and format, if not attach to pc (settings usb) and the first memory displayed will be internal the second will be microsd card.

My sansa player does not recognize a micro sd when its inserted

Sorry, it doesn't work that way. You can use a separate card reader to put files onto the microSD card. When the card is installed into the Sansa, the Sansa will see the additional music.

Additional SD card memory installed in the card slot

Check to see if it is the proper SD card. while several size ( memory) cards may fit the port the player may only recognise a 2 or 3 gig card.

Sansa 250, and media converter won't recognize new mini sd card

The Sansa will only play videos stored in its internal memory, not on a microSD card. You can put music on the card, but not videos or photos.

Trouble with expanded memory

The Sansa Express was only designed to hold up to a 2 GB Micro SD card because that is as much expandable memory it was meant to read. Anything bigger as in your case will cause the player to go slower than normal as it tries to read the card and after a while, it will most likely freeze. If you try it with a 2 GB Micro SD card, it should work.

if the micro sd is HC the sansa will not read it because it does not have the right firmware and connection to read an 8 GIG if you want that get a sansa view

You might be running into a problem with the new card being a SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card and not just a SD (Secure Digital) card. I have had similar problems with SDHC cards when I put then in older products that have regular SD slots (Photosmart Printer). The cards will still fit into the slots, however the method as to which they are read and written to is different which causes the problem. So, maybe try updating computer hardware drivers or mp3 firmware from the Sansa website. Also, if you can, exchange the 4gb SDHC for a 4gb SD card, this could be a pain in the ****, but this solution should fix your problem definately. Hope some of this helped.

4GB micro sd card.

According to what I've read, you can double the original memory, but no more than that, so the max you can have on a Sansa e250 would be 4 GB (2GB internal memory and 2GB external memory). I also read that the micro SD cards holds
music only-no video.

Can't copy songs on to SD 2 gig Card in Sansa e250

the card shows up as a separate drive letter, remember that
when the card is in the player, look for the second drive letter in My Computer and add the songs to it not the first; yes the card will show up in your library on the player only after you have unplugged it and restarted the player.

Trouble using an SD Card

If Sansa e130 or 140 is version 1.x.x.10, SD card MUST be formatted as FAT (FAT16). Music files need to be on the root directory for better performance. I have a SD card (2 gig) formatted as FAT16 and the music plays good.

I was not able to upgrade my e130 to Version 2.0.0.1 Firmware.
Hope this helps
