Question about Garmin GPS
The download should cover the whole US territory. Probably your problem is the result of a bad map file, and only few States had been installed.
You need to contact Garmin and ask a new download for the maps you payed for.
See:Contact Garmin Support or call US Toll Free: 1-800-800-1020 , Monday - Thursday: 8 AM - 6 PM, Friday 8 AM - 5 PM Central Time.
Note: Garmin, same as its competitor is continuously fixing bugs related to the map updates. The only way to find out if there is a problem related to your download is by contacting them.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
