If the cable broke, you'll have to replace it, but if you're in a hurry to mow, try this: get 2" of wire and duct tape 1" to the upper broken cable, and 1" to the lower broken cable piece. Might work, and if it fails, nothing bad happens, the mower just stops. Good luck. Please rate if you find this helpful, thanks!

92 chevy s10 code says esc module

What is electronic spark control (ESC)?

Electronic Spark Control

An additional electronic control (ESC) is used on vehicles equipped with
an LE9 engine. The Electronic Spark Control (ESC) system is a closed
loop system that controls engine detonation by modifying the spark
advance when detonation occurs. The amount of retard is a function of
the degree of detonation.

Controller

The (ESC) controller processes the sensor signal and applies it to the
distributor to adjust spark timing. The process is continuous so that
the presence of detonation is monitored and controlled. The controller
is a hard wired signal processor/amplifier which operates from 6 to 16
volts. The controller has no memory storage.

Sensor

The (ESC) sensor is a piezoelectric device, mounted in the engine block
that detects the presence (or absence) and intensity of detonation by
the vibration characteristics of the engine. The output is an
electrical signal that goes to the controller. A sensor failure would
allow no retard.

ESC Vacuum Switch

On LE9 engine equipped vehicles with automatic transmission a "tip in"
vacuum switch is used. Its function is to provide a momentary contact
closure (signal) to the ESC controller during a throttle "tip in"
condition which then briefly retards spark timing to minimize knock.
The switch contacts are normally open under steady engine vacuum
conditions including no vacuum, and all brief increasing vacuum
conditions. Basically the switch closes only during rapidly decreasing
vacuum conditions such as that encountered on rapid throttle operation.

My thottle cable broke how to fix

remove seat and gas tank. remove air box and related parts to be able to access the throttle body of the carburetors. open the hand grip casing on the handle bar and loosened the adjustment on the cables, then separate the hand grip from the plastic casing. detach the cables from the throttle hand grip, followed buy doing the same to the carburetor. remove the old cables by tracing their paths and make sure the new ones follow the same route, take notes if need be. follow removal instructions backwards and adjust slack in the cables once all is back in place, slack should be no more then 4 millimeters on throttle handle( free play)

I need to remove the rt.handlebar throttle grip and replace it. need some pictures.

If you want pictures, I'm afraid that you'll have to purchase a manual somewhere. This forum will only allow me to send a picture of 150Kb size. Replacing the throttle grips is not difficult.

First, loosen the locknuts on the throttle and idle cables at the twist grip. Adjust the adjuster barrel inwards all the way getting as much slack as possible. Now, loosen the bolts holding the front master cylinder onto the handlebars and slide it towards the center of the bars just a bit. Remove the two bolts that hold the right handlebar switch housing together. Carefully lift the top portion of the switch housing and move it towards the front of the bike exposing the throttle twist grip. Work each of the cables out of the nylon wheel of the twist grip. Do not loose the barrels that go on the ends of each cable. Once you have the cables loose from the wheel, lower the lower switch housing and remove the right grip from the handlebar.

Now, take the new grip and apply a coating of white lithium grease to the wheel part and the inside of the throttle sleeve in the grip. Put a coating of grease on the handlebar end where the sleeve rides as well. Slide the throttle sleeve and grip onto the handlebars. Bring the lower switch half up and reconnect the cables to the throttle wheel. Carefully reposition the top half to the switch housing and make sure that no wires are being pinched. Install the two bolts but don't tighten. Slide the throttle grip all the way up on the handlebars and then back off about a 1/4" or so. Tighten the two bolts. Now, adjust the two cables to where they each have just a bit of slack. Turn the throttle grip to the wide open position and release it. The throttle should snap shut. If not, work with it until you get it to where it does. Once operating properly, reposition the front brake master cylinder.

Make sure your throttle operates properly. An improperly operating throttle control can cause lose of control of the bike resulting in serious injury or death.

Good Luck
Steve

325 X-L trimmer throttle doe not operate.

There should be a small recessed area off to one side inside the handle for the routing of the throttle cable...Look closely. The spring that controls the return on the trigger isn't too complicated either. It has to be held in place somehere on the throttle handle also and may have to be preloaded so there is tension on it when you install it..Look around closely in the area in the handle RIGHT above the trigger.

Low idle on 2001 electra glide....never been fixed even after going into shop ....help

I think there is a throttle cable and an idle cable.Should be able to get the adjustment you need at handle bar.Check condition of cable first, cable may be broke inside sheath. You could take couple turns on adjuster but cable won't be moving if it's broke inside.

Engine revs when turning right.

Wrong size throttle cable or misadjustment. At the handlebars, I've seen some set that acceleration causes a pull of the cable, I've also seen bikes set to push the cable. Confirm this is set correctly, and that your mechanic used the correct legnth of cable.
