Open Question

1964 Ford Galaxie 500 - 289; 2 barrel carb; If I pour a little gas in the carb, the car starts for a few seconds, but not getting gas after that. Took the fuel line loose and blew air through the carb, and backward into the tank. Line seems clear. Any other suggestions?

I have a john deere stx46 that will crank but not start. Gas is getting to the carb but nothing seems be be coming out the other side of the carb. Could the carb be clogged?

pour a little bit of gas in the carburetor and try it. if it starts for a few seconds it may be clogged and need to be cleaned. change the spark plug first. and try if it wont start then try the carburetor.

is the needle opeoning on the float in the carb? The fuel bowl should be about half full all the time. As fuel pressure flows into the needle & seat, it fills the fuel bowl until the float pushes the needle into the eat. Sometimes the rubber tipped needle can stick in the seat.

Carb gas pouring out of hole on top front of carb

Sounds like the float has absorbed gasoline and can't ftoat anymore. This causes the fuel to not be shut off when float bowl is full causing the carb to flood. You will have to buy a carb kit and a float and rebuild the carb. Hope this helps.
