The knob on my kenmore elite won't move the timer.

The knob on my Kenmore Elite (Model 110.23014100) won't move the timer. If I push it in to move the timer it just spins freely. I can pull it out and the washer will start but I need to be able to move it to a different cycle. Does this mean that I need to replace the timer or possible just the knob or something in the knob assembly.

The knob itself turns the switch on . The skirt move the timer position. Try turning the skirt. You probably have a broken knob. On these the knob is held in place with a plastic rod inserted into it all the way. This spreads the tip and retains the knob. To get the knob off to yank out the skirt for a look see you need to pull that rod out a tad to release the knob. The knob on my kenmore elite won't move the timer. - 88be11a.jpgThat shaft has a rounded end on it that spreads out and locks the knob on. Clever ain't it? These timers are cheaply made, if you cannot find fault with the knob or the skirt then you is gonna need a timer.

My kenmore elite dryer model 110 63032102 won't turn on

Check the door switch. Push it by hand and you should hear it click. If no click is heard, replace the door switch with this part.
If the switch is OK, then the only other problem will be with the thermal fuse located on the rear of the machine. Here is a link to that part.
