SOURCE: toro personal pace mower 5 yrs old only runs 10-15 seconds.

Was gasoline left in the tank during off season? Sometimes gas will break down and clog the jets in the carb. The priming bypasses the carb so when you put fuel in by pumping the bulb it runs, but dies becasue no additional fuel is coming through the carb after the primed fuel is burned off. Sounds like you need to clean the jets in the carb and in the future, use Stabil in gasoline to keep it from breaking down.

SOURCE: My mower starts when cold and runs for a while OK

it sounds like the ignition coil is shorting out inside once it gets hot. or it could be the spark plug as well.

I had a similar problem. I'll bet I took off the carb. 5 - 6 times and cleaned it with no success. Very fustrating! One time while checking the fuel level I accidently left off the gas cap, I started it and while running I put the gas cap back on and started to mow and about 10 seconds it died. I thought could'nt be! So I loosened the cap, restarted and it kept running. Any way the small vent hole was plugged. Thats my story!. Good luck.

SOURCE: i have a toro personal pace that wont start ?

Remove the air box cover and air filter. Spray a shot of carb cleaner into the throat of the carb. Try to start. If it hits and runs for a second then you have a fuel problem, ie. water in fuel, clogged jet in carb, etc. If it wont try and run then its likely another issue, either in ignition or compression.

Check your ignition at the moment it dies. Pull out spark plug. Is it wet? Dry as a bone? Attach it to the lead and be sure the metal part on the plug is grounded ( I use an old spark plug, any one will do-attached to a battery charger clamp to clip to the motor for good ground). Spin the starter and See if you have a good steady spark.
I'm gonna bet it's an ignition problem. Ignition components are heat sensitive and often fail the hotter they get, especially coils and triggers.
The oil sensor leads can be jumped to see if it temporarily solves the problem.

If it only dies when hot it could be coil related. Sometimes after they get hot if they are bad they will lose spark. After it dies check to see if you are getting spark to your plugs.

I have a PP3516 saw. Just stopped. Will not start. Changed plugs and fuel. Don't know if not geeting fuel or electrical problem.

Take the spark plug out, connect the wire, and lay the plug metal base on the cylinder head. Pull the starter through with the ignition on; the spark should be snappy and blue with a clean plug gapped at 0.020". If still nothing, remove the left side case to expose the flywheel and ignition module. Turn the flywheel until the magnets are under the module, insert a thin business card into the pole gaps, loosen the module mounting screws and let the module contact the magnets. Tighten the screws, and rotate the flywheel somewhat to enable removal of the card. Turn the flywheel one full turn to make sure the gaps don't close up further. Remove the ignition switch wire from the body of the module, then try for spark again. If still nothing, replace the module. If you did originally get good spark, try pouring a little fuel mix into the plug hole and try for start. If it pops several times, check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Check all fuel lines for decay or other damage. If still nothing, you may need to clean and re-kit the carburetor. Hope this helps!

My lawn mower srarts than dies its not out off gas or oil

There are a few popular solutions for your problem. You can try changing out the old gas completely, with new fresh gas, you can try changing the spark-plug and air-filter. You can try cleaning the carburator or replacing it if you find it is broken. And you can try removing the spark-plug wire and putting in-line, a spark tester. The ark should be blueish white Not dull orange or yellow. If the spark is insufficient then you can try removing the pull-string cover and lightly sand the magnet that is on the fly-wheel and passes by the ignition coil. Good-luck.
