Just how can you the distinction between an iphone 3g and an iphone 3gs?

Yes there's a distinction between the iPhone 3G screen/digitizer and the iPhone 3Gs screen/digitizer. The glass is exactly the same however the cable for the digitizer relationship is not. You can inform the once the iPhone is opened by you that the link is various. The unlock iphone 3gs connection has a broader bill in the center and can not match. What is the differeance between iphone g3 to phone gs3?

the main difference between the iphone 3g and iphone 3gs is the speed. but here are the specifications for both phones
weight: the 3gs is slightly heavier at 135g memory: iphone 3g only has two options an 8gb or a 16gb whereas for the iphone 3gs it has 8gb/16gb/32gb camera: the iphone 3g has 2mp camera that can only take pictures while the ihpne 3gs has a 3.15mp camera that can also capture videos cpu/processor: iphone 3g has ARM 11 412 MHz, PowerVR MBX-Lite graphics while the iphone 3gs has 600 MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, PowerVR SGX535 GPU. So the 3gs is faster and it means less or no lag on apps
the 3gs has a digital compass
and the 3gs has a longer battery time than the 3g.
to summaarize, the iphone 3gs is faster, has longer battery life, and has a bigger memory (as it comes with a 32gb version).

No 3gs icon on screen, slow connection

You are most likely in an area that has little to no 3G signal, hence your phone has reverted back to the more reliable (however slow) Edge data connection. Please refer to this guide for a reference. Blue refers to 3G network while orange refers to the Edge network. sellers737.jpg

My iphone 3gs keeps losing 3g signal. The only solution to at least make calls & texts is to turn off the 3g. Any ideas as to what is going on?

Try a firmware restore, a guide on how to do that ishere: iPhone Firmare restore. If that doesn't resolve the issue it looks like you need a new logic board which in theory you can replace yourself. Here's a guide on how to disassemble an iPhone. Maybe a tech savy friend can do it for you. If you want to have somebody else do it for you there are third party iPhone Repair Services.

This is known issue with the 3gs, the apple support says it's ok and it knows better to what system to connect in order to have a better signal, but you'd better follow this I guess there will be some updates for this issue
