Question about Western Digital TV HD Media Player USB Drive Case

1 Answer

WD HD TV Media Player won't recognize Hard Drive

I have a WD Media Player that runs fine with an Iomega 1tb. I have recently tried using the media player with another hard drive, WD Essential 160GB and it does not recognize the disk. The HD is in HFS + format and read only and journalling is set to off. The USB LED does flash when the hard drive is first plugged in but after a minute or 2 of scanning a popup saying Unable To Recognize Hard Drive appears. Any one of any other ideas why this could be happening? Thanks!

Try running Scan Disk and defrag. Otherwise use a program like SpinRite to do a low level scan of the disk.

Good luck

Either check around in Any DVD HD or the BluRay menu to set audio output to PCM, which doesn't require any decoding to play back properly or you will have to convert them separately.

The movies have to be in the format that the media player can handle. If not, then they will not be visible, leave aside viewing them. You must download movies that are the same format as the player, eg, .mov or .wmv or whatever.
