Question about RCA DRC8030N
RCA OBVIOUSLY IS USING CHEAP DVD drives that either lock up or just decomission themeselves. You need to replace the drive with a spare. Any computer DVD drive will work, you just may need to modify the screw holes.

I took off all connectors and put them back on.i believe its the circuit tape for the laser eye.bad design connector, barely fits in,very hard to put in,mine was at an angle. i used small angled needle nose pliers.its inside the loader.mine was a drc8052nc recorder, but might be for others.

From everything i have been reading, this is a common error to occur with this machine. Unless you want to send it to RCA and pay to have it fixed, you might have to think about getting a new machine. There is nothing that can be done to fix it. Sorry. Good Luck.
