I have a dell computer and the speakers are attacked to it but i cant hear anything. i checked if the cables were in the right place but they are and i still cant hear anything. i went to control panel and...

If everything is grayed out in the audio devices property in the control panel, that means there's a problem with your audio driver, first step I would take is to reboot your machine, hopefully it will come back.

If that fails, most Dell computers come with a Application CD, put the CD in the CD rom drive and have it reload the audio drivers back in.

Also make sure your speakers are plugged into the green port on back of your computer

Im not sure if its the computer or the speakers but i cant hear anything?and there on and look fine, just cant hear anything?

Make sure the speaker connection is connected in back of the cpu. Check device manager to see that the audio and all hardware is working properly. Open up sound from the control panel classic view sound to see if sound is working. Just a couple of ideas.

The audio on our Nuvi 780 just quit working the maps still load and runs fine, just cannot hear anything.

Hi,

did you check in the system settings, to see if the volume has been decreased or muted ?
Failing this, the speaker has stopped working, and needs replacing, unless theres a seperate external speaker socket you could use, with a headphone or external speaker.

No sound!

If you can hear audio through the headphone jack but not the internal speaker jack, then the speaker is bad.

This is a problem I have seen many times before. I will be posting an article soon on how to replace the internal speaker, however this is not a repair that just anyone can do.

You have to have skills in dissassembly & soldering.
