The lens won't come out - it makes a buzzing noise but won't open. Like it's jammed?? Olympus FE-46

Hi.

This error indicate that focusing ring got stuck or jammed. What you can try to do is spray some compressed AIR into the lens to try to free up any sand or dust that may have worked its way in. If that doesn't help, you can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.

or.......
You can try to turn camera ON at the table (facing it to the ceiling), don't put camera down face to the floor when opening.
Else your camera need to be disassembled to get at the focusing ring at Service Center.
Good luck and have a nice day.
Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

Turns on for 1/2 second and turns off

It sounds like the focus element inside the lens is stuck. This is usually either due to an impact knocking the elements out of alignment, or to sand/debris entering the focus motor's gear drive and preventing it from rotating. The buzzing sound you hear is the focus motor attempting to rotate, but buzzing up against some obstruction. When the lens extends, you hear a buzzing sound, and then the lens retracts - this is usually the cause of the issue. Unfortunately there is not much you can do externally to fix this problem. The camera will need to be taken apart and repaired by a professional or by the manufacturer. David Millier http://advancecamera.com/repair

Nikon s220 lens error

The s220 seems to be very susceptible to lens errors, usually associated with the lens barrel being unaligned. It only takes the slightest bump/drop in many cases. Fixing it is a hit or miss solution. http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html Has a good list of possible fixes.

The Focusing ring BUZZES and Shuts off

1. Clean the battery contacts. a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth. b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera. Please make sure that you are installing a fresh/ fully charged battery c. Turn the camera on. 2. Without the memory card, turn your camera on. (If it works then it?s your memory card that is faulty) 3. Please test with the a different battery If you do not have access to another battery Try these steps instead: Please take the battery out of the camera. b. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the battery. If you camera doesn?t switch on you will need to order a no power repair with KODAK or a new cable. 4. The alternative is a repair. Makes buzzing noise when switched on and lens goes in and out and won't switch off and won't focus

Chances are your auto focus was damaged some how. was this camera dropped? im guessing most likely that could be your problem the solution: buy a new one or take it to your closest camera store. Bottem line: if you want no problems and have the money to i would sugest just replacing it.

I have the same progblem - But my camera does not turn off

It sounds like a problem with the focus system. Could be sand or something - happens quite often with these lens as the focus gears are very small. So the lens have to be cleaned / repaired - it's a hardware problem, so you should contact your local Olympus service center or other local camera repair shop. If they ask too much, I can offer you the repair for a very good price. You can contact me at toms.safranovs@gmail.com
