Cannot get gas to flow to pilot flame with main valve parallel to gas pipe. Is there something I must push to make gas flow to the pilot flame pipe?

you said, in effect: Cannot get gas to light the pilot flame even though manual supply valve is open. Is there something I must push to light [ignite] the pilot? Permalink
The gas supply valve is open, and the pilot gas cutoff valve is open but [it seems like] gas will not flow to the pilot flame because it will not light when I supply a match or lighter flame. I remember there is a button or something I need to press...but where it it? I cannot find it.

I just bought a mud blaster 110cc quad for my son, why does it start then 2 min later stop even with feathering the throttle?

#1 sounds like a fuel delivery system issue. Make sure the fuel tank flows freely to the carb. (remove the fuel line from the carb--from the gas tank and turn on the petcock--gas should flow freely) The needle and seat may need to be cleaned or replaced, this controls the flow of gas into the float bowl of the carb.(remove the drain screw from the bottom of the carb (with everything properly assembled- petcock on)..gas should continually flow through the bottom of the carb --10-15 seconds of continual gas flow will make sure its flowing properly! Both of these sound like a solution to your problem.

No gas flow out of pitcock when in on postion why

MOst bikes have a vacuum operated petcock that will only flow gas when the bike is started. They also usually have a "prime" position that will allow gas to flow at all times. Check to see if you have these positions. Also, never leave the petcock in "prime" position as the gas keeps flowing and you could wind up with gas flowing into the cylinder which could seriously damage the motor when you try to start it.

Is difficult to fill gas tank

Gas pump nozzles have a device in the end that when gasoline runs back up into it, it turns off the fuel flow." There's a tiny hole near the bottom of the gas pump nozzle connected to a small tube.
Normally, air flows through that tube while you're filling and the gas keeps flowing as long as you hold down on the trigger. When that hole gets covered by gasoline (when your tank is full), a vacuum forms inside the nozzle and an automatic shutoff switch gets tripped, turning off the flow of gas with a thunk. Next time your fueling up try to reposition the nozzle.

How to empty gas tank

Pull gas line from gas tank to carburetor/injector/throttle body.

If carb, turn on petcock, allowing gas to flow into a gas can.
Remove gas cap to improve/increase flow.

If injected, turn on ignition to cause fuel pump to turn on, flowing fuel under pressure into gas can.

When I changed my gas tank, the gas flow would not

Make sure you didn't turn the gas tank valve on too fast. Some gas hoses have a built-in excess flow valve that stops the flow of gas to a trickle if opened too fast. Close the tank valve, disconnect it and reconnect it. Turn the tank valve very slowly and then try lighting it again.

On a gas dryer gas is flowing "TO" the gas valve all the time.
It does not flow "PAST" the gas valve unless the gas valve opens and the burner is lit. This is based on other components working correctly.
If other components fail the gas does not flow past it.

Gas is not flowing to burners on my gas grill

There are a number of reasons why this might happen. I've noticed on the new style gas tanks you have to open the top valve on the tank very slowly in order for the gas to flow. Also, insects and spider webs get into the line causing a flow prolem. Your regulator might be defective or the burner itself might have moved from it's position where gas enters. Listen for the flow of gas amd be careful if you try to light it. Good luck!

suspect problem is with the regulator on the gas bottle as it would be unusual for all burners to be faulty at the same time. try substituting a new regulator
