Question about Sony Cybershot DSC-T77 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Pictures were taken with my SONY CYBERSHOT 10.1 camera - but there was no memory stick in the camera. Now the picture are in the internal memory. I've tried to delete them, but I get messages that say they are "write protected". How do I delete these pictures?

First of all remove any memory card you may have in the camera.. Then connect the camera to your computer using the USB cable provided. Then Switch on the camera, Once windows has recognised your camera, open up My Computer. There will be a removable disk icon appeared, open it up. Open the DCIM folder, then open the 101_SONY folder. This now has given you access the area where the camera stores you photos. select the first file by left clicking on it, then hold shift and left click on the last file, they should all now be highlighted. Now right click on the last file. and select properties from the menu. On the window that appears, deselect read-only checkbox and click Apply. Your photos will now no longer be write protected and can be deleted.

Hope this helps

Yes, you need to have memory stick because camera has limited internal memory that can store few pictures only.
Put new memory card, format it through camera Menu and copy internal memory pictures to memory stick, take our memory card from camera and delete internal memory pictures either one by one or format internal memory through camera Menu.
Thanks.

How do you upload pictures on the internal memory?

If you normally upload your pictures by connecting via the USB port, remove the memory stick before connecting the camera to the computer. If you normally upload your pictures by putting the memory stick into a card reader, use the camera's memory stick tool to copy the pictures from internal memory to memory stick.

Sony Cybershot 3.2MP Camera: Problems with memory stick

Hi,

It's very possible that your card has filled up with the 10 photos if they were taken in maximum resolution and in best quality. Check if there is anything else on the card such as videos. If you want to take more pictures, I would advise lowering the quality and resolution. Getting a bigger card would be also an option since they aren't that expensive nowadays.

Try a different memory stick, and make sure the camera is set .,..TO: Memory card, not Internal Memory.

Auto delete

If you are refering to the pictures you took on the camera before you put in the memory stick, then you took those pictures on the internal camera memory. the camera is set to default on the memory card whenever one is in. To get to the pictures on the internal memory, remove the memory stick and you should be able to view the pictures. To transfer those pictures to your computer follow the steps in the manual, just be sure not to have the memory stick in.
