Gateway Recovery Media Creator failed after using f11 restore

After i suceeded in restoring to factory perfect via [F11] key
i tryed to run Recovery Media Creator due to this mess
= fail ''no recovery partition or update cd files found''

i try to boot via [F11] and gui now says
insert disk one to finish recovery so i cannot start over

to force it to see the partition i tried

dissableing pcangel  = same result

editing STRCDC.ini file with the lines
[Debug]
ForceRP=d:
same result  , so i undid this

next tried mbr hex edit
d: @ offset 1F0 = RECOVERY
same result so i undid the mbr hack

i tried at gateway.com but they need the serial number,
and mine was ground off (yard sale puter grumble grumble!)

the d: drive is loaded with 2gb of recovery code that ran restore fine
but will not let me make the disks and will not let me run restore again

everything else works,,, now what

The recovery partition is corrupt, you cant restore it that way, use third party disks instead.

How do i restart Gateway e1 vision amd fully clearing everything from the login and f8 and f11 will not work

The way to restore Gateways is to hold down the ALT Key and repeatedly hitting f10 then it should bring you to a boot sequence screen then choose the HDD and then hold down ALT and repeatedly hit f10 again.
That should prompt the restore feature for gateway.
with a "Restore from factory default" option. This loads the system partition (C:) from the recovery partition (hidden). It does wipe every thing out on the C: drive to be like it was when new.
If that doesn't work the only way to do it is to boot into windows and run the eRecovery program

Hp mini 210-1041nr does not boot up. Keeps looping at startup to did not start successfully

Teaching complex computer topics in text box will never be short.)
PC has vast POINTS OF FAILURE< it was an airplane it be crashed long ago and turned into beer cans.

there are only 2 paths, to any new OS.
(HP media kit or F11) (the HDD must be good. first)

no OS stated, why post not saying what OS is here ,XP?
the ESC key does it work>? guess yes.
this is first test. of all modern HP puters.
power on, (hammer , the ESC key) as the screen tells you do do in white text... see that>?
IF BIOS is alive and the battery inside is not shorted (take it out)
then the F11 key works
if someone (the bad guy) installed, a newer or same OS from a microsoft disk , (NOT HP) then not the PC is slammed.
the F11 is dead.
F11 is the hidden HP restore PARTITION.
here are the tests. in the correct order. on all ; PC , ill post them now. (modern HP only)
1: does BIOS work? Esc key , F2, F9, f10 , f11, )
all BIOS keys most respond at power on, if not the battery is shorted. remove it and continue. (end LT horror 1)
2: screen works , bios works, all bios keyswork even F11 tries to work but does not get to the blue restore pages....
3: if all the above, seems to work but only F11 fails that means 1 of 2 things, the HDD id dead, or the HDD was corrupted.
4: at this point we boot to good old and FREE, Knoppix,V7 media.
we boot it and do the HDD tests NOW,
be a waste of time loadning ANY OS on any bad HDD now, totally time waster to extremes.....
here is how to do that. easy. l
Click linux start button , yah just like windoz
then type disk, or find it in there. run DISK
this is disk testing. see the SMART menu , if the smart data shows
unrecoverable sectors, the HDD is TOASTED, its END OF LIFE.
A FACT.
if the disk test fails, the HDD is toasted worse.

http://www.pcdied.com/brick-dead.html#Knoppix

Ok knoppix boots, if not the PC is far far sicker than you think,.

ok this works ok.
the OS on your PC is wrecked.
so load it.
if F11 is dead, that means the HP restore partition is wrecked.
corrupted. as can happen using NON HP restore disks (media)
the correct path now is here.

the HP offical Medial kit from HP, we are not HP we are chat box fixya. (nobody!)

F11 may take you here on any 2006 or newer HP PC

the F11 key runs the HP Recovery partition, installer setup prog.
and land here, on a new PC or any not slammed, with wrong OS.
restore-f11-da0cv3s1i5gku1eufa4qjtra-4-0.jpg power on, hammer, F11, F11.,f11, from 1 second to 5 sec.
repeat power on if F11 did not respond. power off first.
the newer the PC the more choices here.

Press the F11 key at startup. This should bring up the Gateway System Recovery option. That will allow you to restore your computer to it's originally installed state.

Will not boot to windows xp

There is a cost free remedy you can use if your hard drive will not boot up, or when you have a BLACK SCREEN. This radical resetting of the computer is called a system recovery (not a system restore) This will put your computer back to factory settings but you will lose any files on your Hard Drive like pictures, music and word documents.

1. THIS IS HOW IT WORKS :Some older computers and ALL Toshiba laptops come with a system restore disk. Simply place the disk in the CD tray and hit ENTER, if that does not work, power the computer off and on with the disk in the tray, wait for the special system recovery screen to appear, (be patient)

2. If you were not issued with a disk, then the following is for you.
Each computer manufacturer has a special key you have to hit WHEN YOU POWER ON the computer.
HP and Compaq desktops/towers/laptops F11, E Machines and Gateway F11,
Sony PC/laptop F11, IBM and Lenovo towers and laptops all use F11 function key for system recovery.
Dell laptop use Ctr + F11
Acer and TRAVELMATE Laptop Alt + F10
Toshiba laptop F12

3. Here is the trick- power the computer off, and then power it back on and start tapping the appropriate key eg F11 until a screen pops up saying "DO YOU WANT TO DO A SYSTEM RESTORE" OR "WELCOME TO SYSTEM RECOVERY MANAGER" Once you see something appear on the screen, stop tapping and just follow the instructions. Some of the older computers may ask you for the restore disks so have those ready. Most newer computers do not need restore discs. The whole system restore could take 2 or 3 hours. When done, reboot your computer and it should be all new and speedy again.

I hope you find it very helpful. Thank you for using fixya.

I have tried to do a factory restore via doing a regular fActory restore and it won't let me, on the computer in question, is running windows 7 but there i have found is no option to factory restore it....

You are right there is no factory restore. You must reload the entire operating system from a recovery disc, if you don't have one you can likely buy one from HP

Hello,

Most Gateway systems can be restored to factory settings using the following steps:

Turn on the system and repeatedly tap F11 key (before windows starts to load)

In the System Restore Options dialog box, click Full System Restore (with Backup), and then click Next.

Wait for the recovery process to complete.

Thanks
