My ice maker is not working model #ED2LHAXMB00 made 05/03 the

The infra red light inside does not come on and I can't find my manual. The ice crusher went out last year, not as worry about that as he ice maker, but if I can get both at one that would be great.

Before you replace the Water Valver - Shut your water off - disconnect the water line to the from the back of the refrigerator at the top where it goes into the icemaker. I used zip tie or something flexable to see if it would go all the way through to the
tube inside the refrig. If you have obstruction - use your hair dryer
to thaw the ice from inside the refrigerator tube. When the flexable goes all the way through. Hook back the water line to the icemaker. You will have ice soon. If still no ice, replace the water Inlet valve.

My fridge produces water but no ice

Hello Catherine;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You have not provided me with any information to go on. Send me your model number. The model number is located on a label, inside the fresh food section, on the side wall near the top.

Until then:

1.) Reach in and feel if your fill tube is blocked with ice. If so it needs to be cleared.

2.) Feel in your ice maker ice cube mold. Has a ice cube hung up preventing discharge?

3.) Depending on your unit, your may have a bad infra-red transmitter or receiver.

4.) You may have a bad water solenoid valve.

I need your model number to be more exact.

Red light inside the freezer part stay on for my side by side Kenmore refrigerator

Hello William;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

The, 'Red' light is a infra red light. This light assembly on the right hand side of your freezer is the transmitter.
Directly across is the receiver. On the receiver is a spring loaded plastic flapper.
This is a safety device for your ice maker. When the freezer door is closed, the flapper is closed, allowing the infra red transmitter to complete the signal to the receiver. This allows the ice maker to discharge ice cubes. When the door is open the signal is broken, the flapper springs out blocking the circuit signal, and the ice maker will not discharge ice cubes.
There is a On/Off switch on the red transmitter. I do not know why you would want to turn it off. If you turn it off and the transmitter stays on then you have to replace both the transmitter and receiver.

Ice maker has stopped making ice. Infa-red light on inside doesn't seem to be working

One of the causes of ice maker not producing ice is a bad solenoid valve allowing water to pass by and causing the water line to freeze inside the freezer. In other words, if the valve is not holding very well, it will allow water to pass in the line that supplies water to the ice maker. A small drip will ensue and slowly freeze in the line and eventually turn into an ice plug that will prevent water from filling the ice tray. Thawing out the freezer will not solve the problem, you will have to replace the solenoid valve.

P.S.Test the solenoid valve coil and disconnect the line from the valve to verify that it is not allowing water to pass when not energized. Test the infra red module according the manufacturer's instructions if you have them at hand. If the solenoid valve is good and the infrared sensor system is bad , replace it (Infrared system) . The ice maker should be the last part to consider for replacement at this time.

Whirlpool icemaker not making ice

optics would not gon bad from frozen water, strictly a computer watching ice level in ice bucket. it should however be lit blinking at least, if it set ot on positoin and no indicator light is on at all sounds like a bad emiiter/ reciever.
