Color out of line i looks 3d in a fake way

Convergence ic in the tv and how do you replace/adjust it.sony Projection Televisions model kp-53s76 outlined with blue, red, or green coloring. Convergence is the focusing of three images into a wierd fake 3 d

The convergence ic of your tv is place at the main board.It is a two big ic that is soldered to the PCB with heat sink. To replace it you need to use a soldering iron ,soldering pump and a screw diver..unsolder it to the PCB replace it with a new one.Apply a silicon compound at the back of the IC before screwing it to the heat sink.

Screen looks 3D Colors don't line up One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu. Screen is bowed or warped.


The convergence Ics have blown and need replacement. The pico fuses on the D board and G board will also need to be checked and replaced with the ICs. Everything on the screen is doubled focus and it seems like the screen is calapsd in the middle


What you describe is probably a color convergence collapse, usually caused by a power amplifier failure, refer to the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esk4nYZKFcg if this video is close to what you see on your TV you will need to replace both power convergence IC, the model KP57WS510(model given in your post) calls for STK392-510 both are available through UED, email johnl@ued.net, the above link gives an idea on what is needed for the IC replacement, that is if you're thinking of repairing the problem yourself.
