Hello,

did you convert the song on the cd to mp3 format before transferring it to your player?

Make sure you convert the song to mp3 format with your computer, before transferring it into your player.

Also, format the player with your computer before transferring the song to your into it. By so doing, the error message should be cleared.

Good luck.

Hi,

First you should try to update the MP3's firmware if available.

It is likely because the songs you are copying are DRM protected. To remove DRM special software is required. You can search for a few others like this one to do your job but most of them are shareware meaning you'll have to pay to use.

First copy the said song to your PC and 'un DRM' it using the program and then transfer it to your MP3 player.

I have another solution. You can also download unprotected mp3 of songs you have legally purchased from internet or a file sharing software. One such program is Ares. The installation is use is simple and easy. Just install this program and wait for it to say connected. Then search for you favorite songs and download them.

Please note that Ares can be used for illegal music downloads which you should refrain. If you download songs which you already paid for then there should not be problem.

It may be a little uneasy for an end user but keeping in pace with rapid advancements in software and multimedia these devices (bluray players, mp3s TV) require firmware upgrades even out of the box, to accept new formats. Luckily this is not as difficult as it sounds.

All you need to do is click here and at the bottom of the page click on Device/Firmware Manager SA1MXX02KN/02 version V.1.5 to download the firmware upgrade tool. Install it on your PC, connect your GoGear and follow the instructions to upgrade its software.

After upgrade you should be able to play the files.

On the left of the page you may also want to check out tutorials or just let me know if there is a problem during upgrade. Also I would like to know that whether you are copying from an mp3 CD or ripping a music CD.

And if there still is a problem, let me know the name of a song and I'll send it over to you via file sharing website Rapidshare and we'll see if it plays or not. This should tell where the problem is. Don't worry.

Please try downloading the song album from rapidshare. Clicking on the link below will take you to the webpage, choose the free option and after a timer runs out, you will see the link to download. The songs are in a rar file; you need WinRAR or 7zip to open/extract the songs.

Philips mp3 go gear, i can put songs on but then when i come to play it says media engine error.drm licence not available.

When the message 'Error' or 'License Issue' shows, it is referring to the DRM (Digital Rights Management) licences which are commonly found when downloading files. This is a method the music companies use to protect their music

Trying to download e-book keeps telling me media engine error drm licence not available

You should always use audible manager to download e-books on this player. You can go to www.audible.com and create an account with them and get audible manager.

Another option is to download the ebook and convert it into mp3 format. Now you can play it just like any other mp3 song.

Hope this helps.

My mp3 says drm licence not available and wont play any songs

If the songs are Digital Right Management (DRM) protected, the use of the file is inhibited or limited by the content provider. Therefore it cannot be played in your device.
function verify(f) { var r1, r2, r3; var ua = navigator.userAgent; if ( ua.indexOf("MSIE") > -1 ) { // MS Internet Explorer r1 = document.getElementById("r1").status; r2 = document.getElementById("r2").status; r3 = document.getElementById("r3").status; } else { // other browsers: FF, NS, ... r1 = document.getElementById("r1").checked; r2 = document.getElementById("r2").checked; r3 = document.getElementById("r3").checked; } // alert( "r1 = "+ r1 +"\nr2 = "+ r2 +"\nr3 = "+ r3 ); if ( r1 == false && r2 == false && r3 == false ) { alert ( "Please select one of the following before submit:\n - Yes\n - No\n - Need to try first\n" ); return false; } return true; }

Your song (.WMA) are copy protected by 'Microsoft Windows Media digital rights management (DRM)' and appears to be requesting a license key which needs to be loaded to your player.
Solution:
- Media Player will automatically load those licences keys to your player for your authorised music/media files.
- Alternatively, remove DRM (for song that you own ...) by some third party means software (including burning them on CD with appropriate options)
- Use alternative songs encoding (such as .mp3) that do not this protection.

Mp3 player keeps showing media engine error drm licence not available when trying to transfer cd to mp3 player

If it does it on all CD's then it could be somekind of error on the MP3 device itself. However if only on selected discs, than it's the disc which incorporates anti copying tecnology, in which case you'll have to find another way of carrying out (which is illegal by the way) the transfer, unless you pay for a licence!
D.R.M. stands for Digital Rights Management, by the way.

Not playing songs/ transferring to MP3 player on Rhapsody.

You probably have to redownload the songs again. Forget about the pictures, this player is pretty buggy, it's not worth it.
