Question about Rheem 80 GAL ELEC TALL Water Heater 6YR SC 82V802
Rheem Professional 80 used with recirculating water system. Now about ten years old, but the problem started about five years ago or so. Why do I get lots of black particles in the outlets from this heater? They come out at all outlets on the recirculating system. I have flushed and flushed the tank and tons of black particles keep coming out. There seems to be no end to them. The cold water faucets have no such particles. There are no rubber - stainless hoses in the system and I've inspected the rotor in the recirculate pump - no issues there.
Check your particles with a magnet. If they stick your tank is rusting out and it may still have some warranty left, 5 -to 10 years is about right for a warranty issue. Any why check the particles with a magnet. Any way it is time to replace the heater. Sorry.
