Web cam usage

You should also install Skype and the other person would need to have it as well installed on their computer. Once you have this then you just need to create a free account and search for your friend by email or user name as created in Skype. You should be fine once you find your friend.

Your computer is not connected to the network when cam talk

In order to use the video call feature both parties have to be in Yahoo Messenger 10.
If you both have Yahoo you can use the webcam
If you are cross chatting - eg Messenger X MSN, only basic IM will be available

How much memory do you have installed in your computer? This can be a problem as it requires additional memory to operate properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Web cam

Oh, there are a bunch of ways to put it to use:

Use a software that came with it: You must have got a pre-installed software with the laptop when you removed it from the box. It must be YouCam or something. You can even use Windows Movie Maker (to even capture videos).

Use a chat software: A chat software like Yahoo! Messenger, Skype, ICQ, Live Messenger or Google Talk will use the webcam for a video chat with someone.

Philips web cam spc110nc

Philips Webcam SPC110NC doesnt work with Yahoo Messenger as advertised. Packaging says it works with MSN/Yahoo/AIM, but when troubleshooting Yahoo IM using AMCAP.EXE (as per the Yahoo webcam help site), it shows color space/compression used by this product is MJPG and this is the only option. Yahoo IM only supports RGB 24, I420, or IYUV.

Web cam

The internet connection speed on both sides should be checked if either of you are using a slow connection then this problem persists.
If u can see your individual picture before transmission then the camera should be alright.test it with the software the manufacturer as provided.

Web cam is causing interference.

got the same -- horrible noise coming out of the speakers.
I connect XP to XP, with skype on both sides. One of the sides seems fine, but the other one (which is mine), gets this noise every minute
