If the noise which you hear is normal whimming noise its OK.But if the noise is bit dangerous like some thing is blocking the belt or loud humming noise then its time to check the belt as well as the motor there is quite possible that it has internal electrical short wire problem. But you just turn it ON and see if the belt is spinning properly or getting blocked in between.Walk on the treadmill and see if you are getting stuck up in between or you feel comfortable. Slightly apply a bit of oil in the inner side of the belt and let the treadmill belt spin for half an hour. Then see does the noise occurs or it gets proper fluency to spin freely. Thanks. keep updated for any more query.you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

If you have never used a treadmill before - it's hard to determine if it is a "normal" sound.

Check that the platform is fully extended... the belt is tensioned properly - and that there isnt a piece of packing material or cardboard stuck.

Take a visit to a local store and try one out yourself there - and compare the level of (buzz) or "whine"

Thanks!!

Motor making loud buzzing noise

The grinding noise could be asking for lube. If that is possible, do it.

I have a t9450 treadmill and have adjusted tension on belt. It now makes a loud noise when I run. The belt isn't slipping and everything else works. Noise is loud and annoying. Can't run on it....

hi,
Try to lubricate the running belt. If the lubrication is not proper then the belt will make noise. You have to use silicon lubrican for the same . Watch the following video to know how to lubricat the treadmill.
OK

Proform 400GI Treadmill making a very loud noise, which is worse when using speeds between 2.7 and 3.1, noise is so loud can't hear tv when turned up to full volume. It makes the noise without anyone...

This definitely sounds like the drive motor. One way to check is to remove the drive belt and run the motor without the walk belt connected. Obviously if you still have the noise it will be a motor issue. If not then it will be one of the 2 rollers. Good Luck! Tim

While running on the treadmill there is loud noise

Probablt don't need a new belt. You need to isolate noise. Listen and look for any signs of rubbing in the area that noise is comming from.

Noisy 5th gear

but no there was definitely a loud whirring noise in 5th gear sort of like a very noisy bearing. The bike still ran in 5th but it was definately becomming increasingly noisy. When I changed down to 4th the noise went away even if I slowed to the rev range I had been cruising in 5th. Same story with the other gears, but the noise returned with a vengence in 5th. Needless to say I rode the rest of the way home in avoiding 5th. Any ideas? I suppose I'm looking at a gearbox strip? Could the noise be anything else? ,Had a similar issue with my 1000S, only 5th gear was noisy - a sound like a dry bearing -other gears were silent. Bike had done 70,000kms and serviced correctly. Had Barry from IME check it out. Turned out to be both 5th gears needed replacing - looked like the case hardening on the gear faces was eroding and pitting. New gears went in and the box properly shimmed and happy to say 6000 kms later all still silent in the gearbox department. Plus the added benefit of slicker gear changes.,,,
