Toss the gauge, if they leak internally then the brazing inside has come loose, the gauges aren't that expensive. Good luck, and sears parts direct should have that gauge

Air compressor model no. 921.153101 blowing air trough air cleaner

If you get air movement out of the air cleaner and it only compresses air to 25psi, you have bent or broken reed valves in the head. Take the head off the cylinder and inspect the valve plates and reed valves. This is a Craftsman compressor so you'll most likely have to get parts through Sears at www.searspartsdirect.com. For best results replace everything between the head and cylinder; gaskets, valve plates and reed valves.

Motor runs, but no air pressure builds in tank

Three things to check.

1) Check that the tank drain is closed

2) Check that your quick connect fitting at the discharge of your compressor is sealing properly.

3) There is a copper or aluminum line that goes from the head of the compressor to the tank. Check the fittings on each end they occasionally come loose due to vibration.

If all of the above is ok:

Check the head gasket of your compressor. The unit you have is notorious for blowing head gaskets.

Hope that helps,

25 gal horizontal craftsman air compressor is leaking at the pressure control valve. Can I replace the valve or repair it?

Unloader valve probably needs to be adjusted. Should be two jam nuts holding the unloader to the pressure switch. Loosen the jam nuts and adjust the unloader slightly away from the lever. Tighten the jam nuts and try it again.

I have a 25 gal compressor and it will not build pressure. The motor runs but will not build pressure. The compressor is about 25 years old

You got a good life time with this. The compressor has seals or "rings" which wear out over time. Replace them and your compressor will love you. It won't hurt to check all the lubrication points. This procedure is easy for even a novice but may require a special tool. Go to your local small engine repair shop and ask. They will be glad to help you.

Tank will not build pressure beyond 25 lbs. Just runs

IS YOUR AIR FILTER CLOGGED. SOUNDS LIKE THE VALVES IN YOUR HEAD ARE NOT CLOSING ALL THE WAY. THEY ARE MOST LIKELY REED VALVES, THIN STRIPS OF METAL THAT OPEN AND CLOSE WHEN THE PISTON MOVES. MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLOSING ALL THE WAY (NOT CARBONED UP). DID YOU REMOVE THE HEAD AND DID YOU PUT BACK LIKE YOU FOUND IT - NOT TURNED OR FLIPPED OVER. SEE IF YOUR FINGER WILL GET SUCKED UP TO THE INTAKE HOLE.

My craftsman 3 gal. air compressor, 921.153101 won't compress air

I WOULD TRY DISCONNECTING THE PIPING FROM THE HEAD DOWN TO THE TANK AND SEE IF ITS BLOWING AIR. COULD THE COMPRESSOR BE RUNNING BACKWARDS - YOU WOULD HAVE HAD TO CHANGE THE WIRING IN THE MOTOR.
VALVES IN THE HEAD COULD ALSO BE BROKEN. YOU CAN REMOVE THE INTAKE AND IT SHOULD **** YOUR FINGERS AT THE OPENING. HOPE THIS HELPS.
