Windows 7 uses a lot more of your computer's graphics capabilities than Windows XP does. Try turning off Aero in Windows 7 and disabling unnecessary options like animation or cursor shadows to free up some graphics memory and processing.

Installed windows 7 now games do not work used to have xp

This occurred due to 32 bit operating system. Your Windows XP was probably 32 bit, for check that, go to "My Computer" properties. And now, your Windows 7 is 64 bit operating system. That's why that game is not running. Try to load a fresh 32 bit Windows 7 to fix your problem.

My new PCCD-ROM F.R.O.G. game will not install on my new Dell desktop computer. Can you help me?

Is the game listed as "for Windows XP" or "for Windows Vista" or "for Windows 7" ?

Is your new Dell desktop running Windows 7?

Are you using the "Program Compatibility Wizard" to install an XP/Vista application
into your Windows 7 system?

If you are having trouble with windows 7 while your playing game(s). You need to downgrade your operating system to windows XP. But before that, try to right click the game icon and choose run as administrator.

Hello.. i was using windows 7 for a while and decided to go to xp because of gaming...though windows 7 has directx 11 but i think games perform better in xp..my cd/dvd rom does not support cd's so have to...

Did you create a drive image prior to the install ?

If so go back and run the Games from Windows 7 in XP Compatibility mode.

If not use Symantec Partition Magic to create two partitions and operate a dual boot system where you use Windows 7 for most things like the internet and Windows XP for games I also suggest that you use GameXP to optimize XP for Gaming

I try to load a new game (rfactor) it does not do anything. The games does work on other another computer.

Try and go to there website, you should be able to download it,
and if you have the disk that you purchased then you have the serial,
so you can try the download and use the serial.

could be a bad disk, there site says runs best on XP, which almost all games run faster on XP.

But runs on vista also, and if it runs on vista it should run on win 7.

Did you not see the UAC, on windows, this is the lock that stops
the system from installing unless you let it, sometimes it does not show on the screen and gets put on the bottom taskbar, so you don't see it and can't install it until you let it.

At what point does the game install hang.

Drakan order of the flame engine crashes when i start a new game. i have windows 7 but im running as admin and in compatability mode for win xp sp2. what else can i try?

You could try installing the DirectX version the game uses. (probably on disk)
You can also try to download this Windows Virtual PC.
Windows Virtual PC emulates Windows XP on your Windows 7 PC, so that you can run older applications that won't run on Windows 7 otherwise.
You will however need a processor capable of virtualisation.
Virtualisation check and download here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx
After installing Windows XP Mode you will need to install the game again in this XP emulator, but after that it should run fine.

I hope this helps,
Yannick.

My games became in low speed but it has work good in win xp why

The reason your games run so much better on Windows XP vs. Windows Vista is because Windows Vista takes up more of your system resources....so your game has less resources to use , which makes it run slower.

To get your games running faster on Windows Vista your best bet would be to upgrade your RAM (Computer Memory). You can find out what type of RAM you need and purchase it here: http://www.upgradememory.com/configurator_1.cfm

Can I install Windows XP SP2 to this motherboard?

yes, much faster, the minimum amount of memory XP needs to run fairly smoothly is 512MB of memory, especially if you have onboard (shared) graphics as this will be taken from your initial memory as well. So to sum up if you have 128MB ram in at the moment and your graphics memory just to run a normal application will use a minimum of 8MB, take this away from 128Mb = 120MB, if you run a dvd film or a game upto 64MB will be used leaving 64MB for the system, not to mention the memory programmes take to start up quiker the next time you use the programme.
