Question about LaCie 324 LCD TV

1 Answer

I owned a LaCie 324 for two years with no problems, then I moved my office to a different room in the house and about two months later my monitor shut off while in use. Then I shut everything down, unplugged and replugged cords, and it turned on but would only show a strange green on the display. It was under warranty so LaCie sent me a new monitor. Less than two months later, the monitor shut off again, only this time it won't turn back on. Tried changing plugs, computers, etc., and nothing. So LaCie again sent me a new monitor. I guarantee they won't do it three times, so I need to figure out the issue. Both times, several things were the same: monitor was plugged into a Belkin surge protector, which was plugged into an Ace Hardware surge protector (not as good, but would think the Belkin would still handle it?); there were 2-3 hard drives also plugged into the surge protectors, plus my Mac laptop; neither the laptop or the other hard drives were affected; the laptop and another laptop I tried can both detect the LaCie 324 when connected. I had an electrician come in and check the outlet and the surge protectors, and he said everything is working great and is grounded. Any ideas????

There is nothing to do with the surge protector.the problem is the poor quality of lacie.you can try using another brand of monitor and if you wish to repair the monitor to figure out the problem its on the power supply of the unit it is not working you can try replacing the power supply.also try to check the inverter board of the unit its the one supplying the high voltage to the backlight of the screen..tnx

hope i helped you

This has happened to two separate monitors in less than two months, one was two years old and the second was brand new. I don't know if I made that clear. Do you still think it's just bad luck with both monitors?

Lacie 324 screen turned blue

yeah mine too ... was working fine then came up Blue screen. switched back to another laCie 324 monitor happen to have. Called LaCie who said they only replace these as it is cost prohibitive to repair or service... oh and I had it 18 months and they wanted me to pay for a new one and after I send it back if it is not working and is covered under warranty they will reimburse ... what kind of customer no service is that.

No HDMI signal seen in my monitor after setup

you can contact to Mac about the driver for your Monitor, get the support via chat online, and see if the problem is driver. They can RUN software diagnostic ONLINE for to see if something driver is NOT compatible or some Hardware is NOT o.k Do it.

The power switch seems stuck. It does not move at all. Will not turn on monitor.

The humidifier may have raised the humidity level enough to liquify the accumulated grime and cemented the buttons in place.

Hi there, I have a Fisher Price Dual Private Connection Monitor about 6 months old - all parts are functioning (have power, are charged, etc) but today neither receiver is picking up sound from the monitor...

Hi,

I had the same problem.
It turned out the batteries needed to be charged. I left the receivers plugged in for a couple of hours. I don't know if it matters but I had them turned off. They both work now.
I know you said the your monitors were charged so I don't know if this helps or not.

Philips brilliance 200w monitor no video

nice anecdote, fixing things from far is not easy, a t.v.-technician right in front of the actual screen could tell more- but they don't come for free, alas. hope that people's idea about problem solving lead up to you fixing a problem yourself - hey this here is for free - to sort wxperts, one needs feedback! thx alot

Color is not correct

First I would check to see if there are bents pins in the connector. Secondly, this usually only happened with the old CRT monitors when they got moved near a location with high magnetic field.

Hello, I have a Lacie 330770 250 GB hard drive.  It does not respond when I plug it into the outlet.  I have tried several different outlets in different rooms, and neither the green light on the power...

If the green light on your LaCie power supply does not light, you likely have a bad power supply. You can buy a new one from LaCie. If you are purchasing a new power supply from LaCie ask for the higher wattage unit. LaCie upgraded this a while back.

LACie 319 LCD 'smuge'

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!

maybe ur screen was put into a lot of magnetic interference. so check for any magnetic rays emitting devices like speaker adapters etc. a simple check would be to degauss( its in the screen properties). raja

Lacie 19" Electron Blue - Black screen with a brilliant white line across

I have 2 of these monitors and have this problem. I was so frustrated turning the monitor off and on until the white line disappeared that one day, I punched the screen. And it worked! So now whenever this happens (about once every other day) I use my palm and smack the lower left corner of the monitor until the white line disappears. I like the color on these screens so I don't want to replace them until I have to. I will NOT buy another Lacie though.
