Question about Honeywell Electronic Programmable Heat/Cool Thermostat - CT3300A100 Heater

1 Answer

I have had problems w/ my a/C and have had a repair service out that found 3 different problems and have fixed them..however i am still having problems maintaining a comfortable temperature. my programmable thermostat continues to flash a low battery message, even though i have replaced the batteries...i am wondering if my ac problems are actually a thermostat problem...why would the thermostat continue to say low battery even with fresh ones? do i need to replace the thermostat?

I would have to say replace the t-stat. did they change the filter. did they check the evap coil. did they clean the condenser coil. your supply temp should be at least 20 deg colder then your return temp. do you have an attic fan and is it working. is your unit over 15 years old the consider a system replacement. is the unit sized correct. every 400 sq foot of house you should have a ton of cooling. also can you feel drafts at your windows. all thing why your house could be warm. also check your ticket and see what your super heat was it should be 9-12 hope this helps.

Tip

Thank you, thank you!!! A repair service that came to fix my 4 year old Kenmore...

The blinking "clean light" is a common problem with some of the Kenmore and Whirlpool models dishwashers. The problem is usually attributed to water supply temperatures being too low when filling. Apparently, there are some issues with the temperature sensing circuits in some dishwashers that causes an error code to be generated if a certain water temperature is not achieved in a specified time interval (this time may differ between models). There is a reset sequence that you can try to clear the fault. Push the NORMAL WASH then HEATED DRY buttons in that sequence two to three times. The unit will enter diagnostics mode, but can be stopped by pressing the CANCEL button. This will clear any existing faults and should return the dishwasher to normal operation.

To keep the fault from returning, it is recommended that you run your hot water faucet in the kitchen until it runs hot BEFORE you start the dishwasher. This will heat the water in the supply line for the dishwasher (most dishwashers are fed from the kitchen sink supply line). The theory is that if you fill the dishwasher with hot water from the start of the wash cycle instead of the cool water that is normally in the lines (especially if you have a hot water tank located far away from the kitchen), this should satisfy the requirements of the temperature sensing circuits. If the fault reappears, there should be a tech sheet located inside the lower panel under the door that explains what the fault is. The flashing light will be a series of flashes, followed by a pause. If you indeed have a component problem, it will depend on the number of flashing lights in the sequence. Refer to the tech sheet to determine WHAT component is affected and how to troubleshoot.

the boards (one for each of 3 colors) are about $130ea if purchased new.
a good TV repair tech can diagnose the board that is faulty and only replace the failed part(s).
Labor rates are different in every part of the country.
$45/hr here in Michigan.
To disassemble, troubleshoot, repair, and re-assemble is approximately 3 hours work.
Depending on the problem found - you may squeak out with a bill under $300 (worst case).
Not much more - and you can have a HD LCD 49".
Your call :D

You said it 'Not able to fix the problem' Extended warranty that send stuff away to third party repairers are a waste of time. That is because there is nothing to repair or parts to repair with. Go to Samsung Tech Support- tell them the tale they will either repair it free - or offer you a replacement for a low price.
