This is most likely a hardware issue: an error in the install disc, a bad sector on the hard drive or perhaps bad memory. If you can eliminate one or more of those possibilities you can start to narrow down the issue. If you can try a different install disc that would be the first thing. Try taking out memory sticks one or two at a time if possible. Try a different hard drive if at all possible to see if you get the same result. Make sure nothing extra is connected to the PC like printers/web cams/USB headsets/whatever. From you description it sounds like a hardware issue, just have narrow it down. Hopefully it's not the motherboard!

I disconnected the second cd drive and it has accepted an OS.So that issue is ok now will reconnect that cd rom afterwards but I am trying to use the recovery discs to reload previously installed programs now its telling me these discs are not for this model. They definitely are with out a doubt. I formatted the drive with an OE dell sp2 disc because intially the recovery discs would get to a point where the keybaord was no longer functional.Wondering now if will require OE compaq/hp disc to be able to use the recoveries.

Check your bios and see if you have the anti virus turned on. If you do then turn it off. Anti virus prevents windows and other operating systems from accessing the bios portion of the computer. If this works then don't forget to turn ON the anti-virus when you are done installing the new OS

I honestly don't think you are going to be able to rteinstall the software from the backup disks. You have two problems and one of them is a major one. One the motherboard was changed this is going to change one of the security id's on one one of the chips and secondly and this is the big one, the serial number in the CPU will not match the number in the back up which will stop it from installing the backup. Best bet go with the new OS, install a couple programs and see if you can recover specific files from the backup, you may or may not be successful. Hope this helps

BLUE SCREEN ERROR STOP 0x0000007E(0xC0000005,0x80688B8E,0xBACC357C,0xBACC3278)

This error may happen due to following reasons,
1) OS file corrupted
2) RAM
First you need to re install the operating system and mostly this will resolve the problem. For this all you need is an OS installation CD.

If the problem persist again then you need to change the RAM to check this error.

Note: Please don't use two RAM on this situation. Different RAM frequency may cause this error, remove one RAM if you had two.

I keep getting a blue screen. Put in my Back up

That blue screen you get is known to be the BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) and is also known as the Blue Screen Error. The BSOD is caused by a device driver or chages in drivers or may even be a virus. Try obtaining a Windows reinstallation disk and reinstall windows. Keep trying your backup disk and look on the internet on how to use backup disks.

Good Luck!!

Hope i helped.

Unable to get into safe mode

hi there !

-try t drain everything out of the computer first; remove the power adapter then remove the battery; after 1 minute try again; if problem persists run diagnostics
--while the computer is off, press and hld the "Fn" key then press the power button at the same time to start the test; note down error message then consult manufacturer for the code obtained. if no errors found it is a windows problem; you need to reinstall windows on the computer

cheers!

STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error} .. 0xc0000005

The first thing you should do is back up the HDD, Remove the HDD from your Laptop, you find the lid that opens the HDD access slot under the laptop or ask someone who knows how. if available there are aftermarket 2.5 HD enclosures that lets you install the 2.5 in.hdd of your laptop via a usb. you can plug the usb to a desktop PC and backup your files. then reformat your hdd. reinstall the hdd to your laptop. replace your memory ram which causes the blue screen with a new ram, reinstall the OS.

Blue screen error

that only happens if your hardrive goes to hell or you have a lot of viruses,if it gets a blue screen while booting, your harddrive may have gone bad, or forgotten what file system it had, then you have to format the drive and reinstall from a cd, and try blowing the dust the cooler on the laptop out also.

Virus on computer

Mcafee is not always solution provider. Use Node32 or Kesperskey antivirus. But as u say a blue error screen is coming u better need to format your pc. Format it and reinstall new OS. It is good solution because if you wait for something then virus might have affected many of your files. Then it can harm your harddisk. So better you format it and then u will have gud access to internet. Next time you download some good antivirus and run it live during accessing internet.
