Short of having a radio tech look at the radio, I would suggest looking at the grill and mic hole to see if there is dirt or debris blocking the hole.

SOURCE: Motorola T4500 two way radio. Can't

The T4500 is a stripped down version of the TalkAbout radios, it does not offer an option to turn the Roger Beep on or off. Sorry.

Check your interference eliminator code (aka PL, private line, or code). It is likely set to zero (off) on the T5000s and set to a different number on the T4500s. They must match to work together. Otherwise the one with code turned on will not recognize the other one.

Best regards.

What you might be experiencing is the Talk Confirmation Tone aka Roger Beep. I have looked through the T4500 manual and do not see any instructions for turning it off, just that it is listed as a feature. However, something you might try is holding in the + (plus) button while turning on the radio and see if it disables the feature. This method is used on many of the other TalkAbout models.

If it is not the Roger Beep, it could be a low battery beep. But from your explanation it sounds more like a Roger Beep.

When my wife and I travel in different cars we like to use the CB. She uses the handheld, I have a CB in my truck. When transmitting I know she is talking but it is all garbled. She hears me fine.

who is transmitting if it is someone else and you are hearing garbled it could be because they are using single side band on their A.M. CB radio .which your radio cannot detect.

Check the input output settings.
the baofeng is notorious for being somewhat difficult to program manually.
Try the software setup if possible.

My UH038sx-2 will only transmit and not receive

Two ideas: check for incompatible squelch settings; if you're not set to accept the same CTSS or DCS as the guy talking to you is set to transmit, your radio will not respond. (I'm assuming that you have good reason to expect adequate signal strength for reception, as in: you can see each other. Operating range depends on terrain.)

I have a tk -250 and I can hear everyone talking but when I try to respond to them all it does is beep

Are you sure the people you hear talking are in the band limits of the radio. Generally, when they beep on transmit it's because you're trying to transmit out of band. If the stations you're hearing are near the band edge it's possible you have the "offset" wrong and when you hit the PTT, the shift (offset) in the wrong direction is taking the radio out of band.

I can only hear the others. When I talk they can't hear and my red anntenna keeps coming on when I push button to talk.

Assuming the antenna is mounted and grounded correctly, when you try to transmit/talk does your meter needle move to the right with your voice,if it doesn't make sure meter knob is set to receive/transmit or mod[modulate] does it move to right now,if not make sure the mic gain knob is turned up or if it is a power mic,is it turned up&have a fresh battery. The antenna light could mean high swr readings which you will have to adjust by tuning the antenna with the radio meter or external meter, you can search swr adjustment on your computer if unfamiliar..some antenna warning lights are factory set too sensitive but most times are telling you there is a problem. If all is set&tuned properly and you still can't get a local signal to respond, your radios transmit finals could be blown, which you'll need a qualified radio tech to determine..Good luck& 73's

My talk back is low cant hear it

You really don't want to have a loud talk back. Its usually controlled by your mic gain. the louder it is, the louder your talk back is.

Talk back is used so you can her how your audio is being transmitted. It makes a lot of sense when you have echo. use it to hear you echo to make sure its not too much.

The problem with a loud talkback is, if it is too high, you will get feed back in your transmit.

You should leave it where it is.

Speaker phone volume keeps going loud and quiet

Did the location change, a Echo from a wall or vibration from the table. It is a one way sound, someone talks and you hear. As soon as you talk it cuts out the speaker even if they are still talking and it transmitts what you say. So any noise in the room could trigger the the transmit mode even an echo from the sound being turned up too loud. The mike is on the bottom of the base and can pick up table vibration and send it into transmit mode. So the person talking cuts in and out.

How do you go to silent mode?

There are two different kinds of beeps you can control, the "roger" beep and the "button" beeps. Below is an excerpt from the owners manual explaining the simple procedure.

“Roger” Beeps/Talk Confirmation Tone
When you turn this feature On, your two-way radio transmits a unique tone when
you finish transmitting. It’s like saying “Roger” or “Over” and lets others know
you have finished talking. If the person you are talking to does not hear the talk
confirmation tone, you can enable it by pressing and holding + (plus) as you turn On
your radio. Now, whenever you release the PTT, you let your friends know you have
finished talking by transmitting a “Roger” Beep tone. “Roger” Beeps will be
disabled as the Default Setting.
Note: To toggle the Talk Confirmation Tone feature, turn your radio Off and then
back On while pressing and holding + (plus) .

Button Beeps
Every time you press a button on the front of your radio, it beeps unless you turn
Button Beeps Off. To turn Button Beeps Off, turn your radio On while you press - (minus) and
hold . To turn Button Beeps back On, turn the radio Off and then back On again
while you press and hold the - (minus) . On is the Default setting.
