What's with you Experts with the silly questions? Just answer the main question and assume that OP has done the basic things allready.

Specially the 1349 model is known to have permanent heat issues in the USB-dongle. It overheats by default. To make things worse, in some Laptops the processor cooling exhausts blows directly on the USB-dongle and it overheats and stop working. Also direct sunlight causes this.

Even the hinge have proven to be faulty.

My opinion, this product were launched in too early phase to the public and now consumers are doing the BETA-testing.

I personally have had four of these and two of the 1349 models have been changed to new one within a year... and with one i was curious. and fixed it (fine electronics, do not try at home). 3/4 have proven to be faulty of my devices. I have measured USB-dongle surfacetemperatures up to 74C/165F. Inside my house 22C ambient, in shade. It' can't be good to the circuits.

The fouth one is a reserve and is not in daily use, so it still works.

Silly question. Have you tried changing the batteries in the mouse? The weaker the batteries the closer you need to be to the receiver.

I have a state of the art computer but wireless keyboards and mice are just a pain in the backside if you ask me. This is common on almost all of them. Unless you need to sit on the other side of the room I would invest in a cabled solution. There is no battery costs or need to re-charge when your busy, it responds quicker and they last longer.

My mouse was just working and all of a sudden it stopped, I changed the batteries, reset the small button on the bottom and also pushed the button on the plug in portion. Help Allen

I have a miscrosoft wireless laser mouse 6000, and it also stopped working on my laptop. I changed the battery, still not working. I tested the battery in another device, and it was good. I moved the mouse to another computer, and it did not work. The light on the usb connector was lit. [No changes at all to my laptop.]. It seemed like there was no power to the mouse, and I looked at the contacts inside the mouse. The contact just inside the battery opening appeared to be bent down away from the contact on the battery tray. So, I pulled it up a little so it would connect when the battery drawer closed, and (after tweaking it a couple of times), it finally worked!

It does not work. Batteries are ok and mouse appears installed as per the control panel.

Hi,

All wireless keyboards and mice come with a receiver of some kind, usually the receiver plugs in to one of the USB ports.

Look underneath the mouse for a small button which should say "connect" next to it. Also press the connect button on the receiver.

To activate the mouse just right click.

Good luck.

I just purchased the mocrosoft weireless mobile mouse 3000, put in a new battery, followed the 4 step instructions and the mouse will not work, i have resynchronized the mouse and the usb port but still it...

Once you resynchronize both receiver and mouse,do the following: Take off battery next look for a tiny thin button that protrudes in one of the sides where the receiver is placed in mouse, while pressing down this button put a new and fresh battery releasing simultaneously the button.
Unless said button is stuck press it gently down a couple of times, it must be out for as long as the receiver in the USB port. Good luck!! Chawah.

Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Mouse Receiver from the USB port and reinstall the CD software program. When the program asks you to connect the Mouse Receiver to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud

Mouse stopped working, but appears ok, batteries ok, can't determine problem

Is the batteries good. If so try,

Normal 0 Press the Receiver button (and the lights will start flashing.
Then if the Keyboard isn't working, press the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the board to connect the keyboard to the receiver.

If the MOUSE isn’t working, push the small RESET/CONNECT button on the back of the mouse to connect to the receiver. Then they should work okay.
Hope this helps. Bud
