Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. F/02 error means Long Drain. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and "F/02" is flashed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display.

  • Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked.
  • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running.
  • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects.
  • If the above does not correct the problem, replace the pump.

Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

It means filter in front is clogged. Undo bottom hatch on front of washer. Turn filter counter clock wise, clean filter, replace and it should work.

SOURCE: whirlpool duet washer code

Hi Keitha1

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber

You want to know what code dL means on a whirklpool duet washer.

This is what works for me 99% of the time:
Simply unplug the washer for ten minutes. The onboard computer will reset and work like new.
Please understand that you are not being shortchanged. There are hundreds of codes and with this new computer tech. they mostly require a repareman. To save you money the manufacturer has designed it to reset itself after ten minutes to solve most problems. Try this first, you can always call a local pro later if you want.

Feel free contact me again!

SOURCE: Whirlpool duet front load washer flashes F35 shortly after start

Sud= The unit has sensed there is too many suds in the unit it will flush and pump out for 5 min and restart on its own..This is caused by too much soap use..
From the book :
SUD Code=
If too much detergent was used:
—Run the unit through a Rinse/Spin cycle.
—Run a Normal cycle without adding any detergent.
This should clear the unit of the excess detergent.
1. Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged
or kinked.
2. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
3. Check wire harness connections to the drain pump,
pressure switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
4. Check/clean drain pump filter of foreign objects.
5. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
6. Check drain pump.
7. Check the pressure switch.
8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any
cycle.

SOURCE: what does it mean when

This is a Suds Detect error code. The washer will not complete any cycle as long as the error code is present. The following link explains the error and some potential causes:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608687-sud_error

The number one cause of the error comes from using too much, or the wrong type, of detergent. You are required to use High Efficiency (HE) detergent with these washers because the concentration is formulated for HE washers that use small amounts of water. If using regular detergent, you are effectively placing 5 to 7 times the concentration required in the washer which causes excessive suds and can possibly damage the pump and seals. Using the wrong type of detergent can also void any manufacturer warranty you may have.

NOTE: HE detergent does not have a lot of suds, which often misleads consumers into thinking they aren't using enough detergent. With HE washers little to no suds is NORMAL and preferred.

If you use too much detergent, using the RINSE/SPIN option is recommended to flush the tub, drain pump and lines. IMPORTANT: It can sometimes take SEVERAL cycles to clear. Also, leaving the door open for a while can allow air into a suds filled drum to get rid of some of the bubbles. NOTE: You may have to UNPLUG the washer and allow it to sit for at least 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU) to get the washer to start again.

Secondary causes can come from something restricting the drainage system. Most notably, something lodged in the drain pump and/or drain hose(s). I've included a follow-on link that explains how to check the drain pump reservior if required.

Each one of these washers come with a technical data sheet inside.

To access, you will need to remove the lower toe panel under the door. The access screws are located under the bottom front edge of the panel. You may have to prop the two front feet of the washer up for better access ( a 2x4 works well for this). With the screws removed, the panel should drop down, then come off. If the tech sheet isn't directly behind the panel, it will be affixed to one of the interior cabinet walls.

The tech sheet lists all error code definitions, troubleshooting data, diagnostics procedures and wiring diagrams. I mention the tech sheet because you may need it from time to time to troubleshoot your washer.

Read through the information provided and let me know if you have any further questions. I hope this can help you.

FYI: I just recently had the same problem and had to replace the drain pump. If you determine the drain pump to be defective, and the pump housing is still in good shape, you need only to replace the motor. However, most parts sources only sell the pump as an entire assembly. To save money, there are outlet sources available on Ebay that sell just the motor - saving you quite a bit in repair costs. (I would not recommend you purchase a used pump motor - make sure any purchase is for a NEW motor). Installation is simple and only requires you to drain the residual water and remove the 3 screws holding the motor in place. The pump does not have to be removed to replace the motor.

Washer is flashing f2

F2 on a Whirlpool Duet means their is a problem with the Drain Pump or Drain Pump Filter. The Drain Pump and Filter are located at the bottom of the Washing machine. You must remove the front, bottom panel to gain access to the Drain Pump and Filter. Disconnect the Filter and Drain Hoses and clear them out. If they are clear, you may need to replace your Drain Pump.

What does it mean when it gives you a f2 on error on your washer

F2 is a flooded base and that you can drain it by tilting the dishwasher back 45 degrees (have towels handy). If it continues, likely to be a leak that needs repair.
