From the picture i saw of it i suspect that it is in the front of the unit. The front cover should pop off and the water tank should be in there. Most of these you just pullout fill up and stick it back in. Hope this helps

I have/had the same problem with mine and I know it to be the float as I took it apart and I can get it to work if I remove the circuit, but then if it runs dry and I am not around, I run the risk of burning out the bump. I can't find the replacement part; anyone have a clue where to get parts?

Sunpentown Air Cooler SF-608R

When you say filled with ice/ water, is it just an evaporative cooler? in which case it is really only a fan. If it is a proper a/c unit, try emptying the bin you have filled up and try again. Most a/c units have a water bin that fills and switches off the unit by a float switch until you empty it and it runs again. Let me know how you get on!

We bought a Bonaire cooling system at yard sale, it leaks water after it is running for awhile, plus it sprays water out the front

I take it this is a window Unit , the water is coming in the room because the Unit has to be pitched about 1/2 into the back ( outside ) or the drain line is clogged ( dirt) stopping water from flowing to condenser ( that cools the coil)
The water is condensation from warm air hitting the cold coil .

Bought open box product didnt come with owners manual. Just wondering what the evaporate option does on it. Does it make it blow colder air or no

The evaporator button turns on what is similar to a conveyor belt on the back of the unit. The two rollers, one at the bottom of the tank and the other is above the blower, is just like a conveyor belt, but instead of a black belt it's a white absorbent cloth. When turned on the rollers start moving the white cloth in a rotation into the tank at the bottom that is filled with water and two ice packs (you get 4 w/ it) and I put in a tray of ice cubes at night. . As it goes down into the tank it absorbs cold water and as it goes up the blower is drawing in cold liquid molecules from the white cloth, then the cold liquid molecules are drawn through the blower and out the front of the unit. This conveyor system does remove so you can remove the tank to add or change the water. This is also a filter on the back. When the Evaporator is off the conveyor just is not on. I hope I made any sense, lol. I am not a technical writer and spent 15 mins trying to explain it. I hope I helped.
I just purchased one at WalMart. I realllly like it. I have a room w/ no windows. One little air conditioner at the end of the apartment so I get none of the cold air. I heard about this so I got it. I love it! At night I don't have to have all these fans that stiffen my neck and makes it sound like I am in a airplanes turbine. Just this baby with two frozen packs at a time. I put a tray of ice cubes also at night. You do not feel water on you but it's definetly much cooler then a fan. Especially in humid conditions. People who say it sucks or does not work. They probably expected to get a stand alone air conditioner for $80 instead of $300.

The customer service # that came w/ mine is 866-876-4332 9-5 cst M-F or MideaUSA@aol.com

Water tank is suddenly filling up

look closely how the water flows from the evaporator to the tank. does it goes first to the condenser ?..or is there a heating pipe that is touching the tank in order to heat the water for it to evaporate?

here's the set up, your ac would cool and absorb moisture in the air and becomes water in the evaporator. these water is sometimes used to cool the compressor or the condenser to help it run cooler and at the same time evaporates the un-needed water . but incase the water is so much then you have the tank to keep the water from spilling. sometimes they still put some hot pipes to further heat the water to evaporate.

check those pointers that i have mention.

in some case, the air in your place just got humid and wet that is why it has too many water condensation..
