Remove all the cable conencted to your D-link except for the power cable of course ^_^ if the lights stops from blinking then possbile one or more of the ethernet ports on your router is malfunctioning try connecting the modem to your router by trying all the ethernet ports on the router until you see the lights stop from blinking if the lights stop blinking then that port is still usable on the router but in any case it also may be the routers settings you might need to set your router to the modems settings depending on your internet if it is DSL and you are using PPPOE there must be a user name and password that you need to input in the router for a calbe modem no need but since your situation is as we speak I do not think you have a cable modem for your internet, you might need to call your Internet service provider as well for further info for the user name and password the mdoem has unless you know how to get the user name and password from the modem ^_^ as far as I can go that's all

What is the password to reset the di 524 router

From D-Link
Step 1: Open your web browser and type in the IP address of the router (192.168.0.1 by default).
Step 2: Enter the username (admin) and password (blank by default), and then click Ok or Log In .

If that doesn't work you will need to reset the router to factory default settings.

Hi, DI-524

The final solution is a factory reset of your router. You can do a factory reset by logging into the router using you browser. Go to the settings and perform a factory reset

If you forgot the router password, you ill have to do a factory reset by locating a small hold on the back of the router and insert the tip of of paper clip for about 10 seconds while the power is on. The router will be reset to out of box status and then you can ssets-up form scratch.

I have router DI-524 and am unable to connect to internet thru this router. But it says, it is connected

I would do a hard reset by pushing the small button on the back. You will need a small pen to push it. Push and hold down button till the lights flash I would/ say 10-15 seconds should be good enough. Once it's reset try setting up all of your settings again. Remember if you have dsl you will need you username and password to be inputed in some cases. If it is broadband most likely you will not have to bother with username and pass hope this helps.

Can not open wizard

You can reset your router.

To reset your router, use the following steps (from http://technicallyeasy.net/2008/02/how-to-reset-d-link-di-524-wireless/):

  1. Press the reset button [the tiny button on the back of your router, marked Reset] for 10 seconds. You can use a small object, such as a paper clip to hold down the button.
  2. Do not power off the unit while the router is being reset.
The unit should now reboot, and once the WLAN light stops blinking the router should be reset.
  3. Open up your Web browser and enter 192.168.0.1 in the address bar.
  4. For the login, enter admin as the ID and leave the password blank.
The router has now been reset. Follow the steps in Securing D-Link DI-524 Wireless Router to secure your router.

Ip address

By default the IP address should be 192.168.0.1.

If it will not accept it
>Make sure your computer is wired or connected to your DI-524
XP version
>Try going start>run > type in CMD
>on the black screen type in ipconfig and hit enter.
>Look for the Default Gateway that would be the IP address that your DI-524 is using.

Windows Vista
>Click Start>All Programs > Accessories > click on command prompt
>type in ipconfig
>Look for IPV4 for the Default Gateway and that would be the IP address of your router.

If not allowing to access the login page, try pressing the reset button for 15 seconds at the back of your DI-524 but pressing the reset button will reset the setting of your wireles setting. Once your press the reset button type in 192.168.0.1 on the address bar and you should be having the login page. use Admin/admin for the username and leave the password blank and click ok...

DI-524 Wireless

Yes you can, it's easy.

1. Just connect one of the LAN ports of the DI-524 to a LAN port of your other router. Leave the DI-524 WAN port empty.
2. Disable the DHCP server on your DI-524, your other router will be the DHCP server.
3. Assign a static IP address to you DI-524, different from your other router's. Example, if your other router has 192.168.2.1, you may assign 192.168.2.4. Make sure that the IP address you assign is outside the DHCP range configured in your other router and that the subnet mask is identical on both.

the default ipaddress for that is 192.168.0.1 you will need to set your computer with a ip address like 192.168.0.2 then you should be able to access it. be sure to change your computer back to DHCP after you reset the router
