You can if the power switch/reset bottun/power led/hdd led are not proprietary and banded together into a single **** plug. and if the mounting holes and setup will accept a gateway motherboard. but the power switch pin setup is what is the deciding factor in this switch. two wires going into a two prong female little black plug. the same for power led, reset switch yada yada. your gaming case is going to have these. if they match, then go for it it will work. oh and be sure to check the distance between the processor heatsync and fan combo to the power supply. some cases bunch them too close together and in some cases they wont fit in the case, i.e. the powersupply being 2 inches into where the cpu cooler unit should be :(

Dell Cases are very often only for Dell boards--connectors not standard--It can be done, but a lot of trouble. If you want to really speed up look for good complete kit from tigerdirect.com--and put it together--Will work A LOT better than what you can buy at stores.

Maybe you put the wrong jumper of the power jumper for the front panel.

Explanation:
You can see the switch to turn on the PC right, then make sure that switch correctly installed on the right jumper on the board. Follow the cable to attach to the mother board.

Hi yoyo209:
You may have a failing mother board. This is a common problem with these models...do some search on the web.

Best maybe to replace the mother board with a same size board. You may have to re-install windows over your system to get the drivers and mother board to work right.

Gateway 505gr motherboard replacement

not powering up does not mean the mother board is bad , the power supply going bad is more likely to be the problem . But your tower is considered to be a mini tower ive got the same one that I replaced the mother board on . dont mess up and get the wrong size board , it will not fit!

Gigabyte mother board

hi reason y it wouldn't start is because the 2 is not compatible, what u can do is get a Intel P4 not a celeronD check the socket size and make sure that it correspond with the board that u have. The board that u have uses a 478 socket size so u need to get a processor with the same socket size ok... that should do the trick
